The best Reddit experience

Excellent app, clean, polished and runs super smooth on my aging iPhone 12 Pro Max. I’m unsure why some people have left 1 and 0 star reviews for this app based on the newly implemented subscription costs. I read a few reviews saying that the API changes were false and the Narwhal developer is simply trying to steal from its users, which is completely false. Why do you think Apollo and the rest of the third party apps stopped? The developer has done a great job supporting this app as a side project whilst keeping it fresh and full of features, I don’t believe it will stop being supported anytime soon and I have absolutely no problem paying £4 a month for the experience I get from the app. There is features that have not been in any other app that make it worth £4 alone. 5 stars all day long!

Been using for years

My favourite Reddit app by far. Bought ad-free as soon as I saw the option and never looked back. The interface is so smooth and clean, and it keeps true to the traditional news and link-based Reddit. Which is especially nice now, considering the Reddit admin’s recent push for a more cluttered, personal-profile driven social network.

Looking forward to Narwhal 2! Some suggestions I have I’m sure others have made: it would be lovely to be able to see non-gold awards on comments. User flairs could use some adjustment, as sometimes long flairs are cut off and unreadable, particularly in the comments.

Thanks for all your hard work!

Loud fire alarm sounds. Poorly created app.

For most part it runs well. There is one issue though and that issue is giant: The ads that are displayed in the app are downright disgusting. What I mean is that they are incredibly intrusive. Browsing the app I suddenly got an incredibly loud fire alarm sound. I was incredibly confused and suddenly realised the sound is coming from my phone. I turned the app off and it disappeared immediately. Searching outline it looks like lots of people have had the same issue over the past years. The developers have clearly not done anything to address it.
The above combined with the guild tripping, manipulative pop up message that instead of asking you normally to share your data with the app, instead gives you a sob story telling you how they would never use your private data inappropriately but really need it because they are making the app for free is a deal breaker.
Reader be advised and stay away from this one. Plenty of other Reddit clients out there. This one is not the one.
