I like the new model and think it makes sense. I am happy to pay for analysis and in depth reporting. That said why as a premium paying customer do you still need to serve ads that cheapen the experience? The pages are littered with adverts and I find it annoying. The Times don’t do it and neither should you

1. The app is horrible to use.

I read an article in the sport section and “go back” - it takes me to the home page instead of the spot in the sports list where I was making me go back and find my spot. Terrible user experience

There appear to be more adverts than articles taking up the discs on my huge 6.1 inch screen. Like, is this a news app or an advertising app? I understand the need for advertising revenue but news 24 existed long before apps or as revenue was a thing so I don’t understand why you are trying to be so greedy and ruin the user experience and chase away users. The price being charged to remove adverts and access premium content also seems quite excessive.

2. Everything seems to be locked behind the “pay gate”, like I can’t even view comments on an article. Read that again, CAN’T EVEN VIEW COMMENTS.

I use this app and website less and less every day and it’s so sad because I love news 24.

UPDATE- Download the ***IOL News app*** So much better!

My second review of this app. Whilst the journalism has always been mediocre at best it was a site where I could catch up on news back home. Then they flooded the feed ads and now pretty much every article is behind a paywall. Why would anyone pay for shoddy journalism? Luckily other options are available so now deleted this app. The new updated app is absolutely shocking! You can only see 3 articles per screen page the rest is all ads! (And the majority of articles are littered with grammatical errors and spelling mistakes)
