Good, but it could be better.

If you don't fancy Premier Sports or want to watch your team, then this is the app for you. You can watch most of your teams either live or on replay. Some games are, however, under blackout, and you will need to wait 48 hours to watch them. So why the low score? Well, that's due to the app’s layout on Apple TV. The UI is just a mess and takes a while to get used to. But even after you figure it out, it's still a clunky mess. The games themselves stream and excellent quality, and I have no complaints. But again, the interface is terrible. It's tough to fast forward the commercial break/intermission cards. It can put you back to the start of the game or freeze your stream. Why not include the adverts? If you can't, then why not remove them from replays as the NFL and NBA apps do. This isn't a cheap service, and it needs to improve.

Blackouts ruin this

Too many blackouts and too many little bugs and oversights that ruin the overall experience. For example if you start watching a none live game with the scores off for the first few seconds of loading the content it doesn’t show the actual score but it shows the points on the timeline when goals happen. Also they need to extend the timeline as too many times it’s spoilt the last few minutes of games for me because I know a team isn’t going to score be cause the game timeline ends abruptly so no chance the game will be extended to OT. I’ve had game centre for almost ten years now and although it has come on leaps and bounds and improved so much over the last ten years there are still little bits like this that ruin the overall experience. Also the blackouts are just unforgivable. I pay the more expensive package to watch all teams games not just my own and the reason I do that is so I can watch some early games at the weekend but alas they are nearly always blacked out. For this reason only I can’t give it more then one star and for this reason again I’m going to question for the 11th year in a row should I really subscribe for another season? Problem is i just love my Stars too much. So the nhl is going to get my hard earned cash again for a sub par service they provide to a dedicated fan. The words “corporate greed” once again ring true. Go Stars!

Horrible update

Where’s the schedule calendar gone? Now it’s a clunky list, with a date selection feature that doesn’t work (it keeps returning me to August 2023 with no games when I select either September or the ‘today’ pop up). The point of a nice, simple, elegant calendar is that you could see patterns at a glance - previous win/loss streaks, forthcoming busy or light stretches, breaks & long road trips, early games that us international fans could watch, etc etc. Now it’s an ugly, fussy list that you have to endlessly click through, with, as previously mentioned, broken navigation. And where are have the links for radio broadcasts gone? AND, it just took me multiple, confusing clicks to work out how to get past the top 5 stat lists to the actual stats page (which is still cluttered with that annoying Hockey 101 pop up - I’m going to guess that anyone who’s taken the considerable time & effort to navigate there probably knows what the columns are…) Also, FYI, the app support button on App Store takes you to a ‘contact us’ page with no means of contacting you…
