How to use the NHS Health and Symptom Checker app
- Checking your symptoms -
Once you’ve downloaded our app, simply select the symptom checker that best matches your symptoms and answer the questions.
- Health advice -
After working through our symptom checker, we’ll give you advice on what to do next, whether that means seeing your GP, going to a walk-in centre or looking after yourself at home.
- Looking after yourself -
If you can treat your symptoms yourself, we’ll provide you with a step-by-step self help guide on what you can do to make yourself better. You can save this information to your device so you can access it at any time.
- Call us at any time -
If you’d like to speak to one of our healthcare advisors, simply select the call option from our app. You’ll be connected to our NHS 111 telephone service free of charge where you can discuss your symptoms.

What's New in Version 2.0.7
Fixes crash in iOS 7 and styling in iOS 8
Thank you for finally fixing the problems
Could not progress past DOB but now is back to working correctly thank you :) although some of the list of symptoms have been removed! Can the symptoms list be added to? Or more refined so to include more basic symptoms/ more specific symptoms! Very useful app
Doesn't help me much
I would like to know what problems I may have from the symptoms I have and not just be told to go to a&e or call 111. My leg hasn't been in much pain and I just want to see what it could be as it is swollen as hard as a brick (not overreacting) but it simply tells me to go to a&e as soon as possible. I know it's only called a symptom CHECKER. but a few diagnostics wouldn't go a miss?
.... But you should really get rid of the iOS 6 style next and previous buttons, you have a mixture of standard buttons and iOS 6 buttons...looks messy.
