GUIDANCE AND TRAINING
Whether you’re looking to take on your first 5K or smash your marathon PR, Nike+ Coach gives you training programs, coaching expertise and daily workouts to get you race ready.
TRACK YOUR PROGRESS
Stay on track, no matter where you are. On the trail, treadmill, or streets, MotionX® combines your iPhone’s GPS and accelerometer for the most accurate tracking of your distance, pace and time. Track how high you climb with elevation tracking optimized for the iPhone 6. Measure your progress every mile with in-run audio feedback.
Share your runs and let your friends keep you going with cheers along the way. Show off your Nike+ level color and amp things up with a PowerSong at the press of a button.
COMPARE AND COMPETE
Nothing's as motivating as a little friendly competition. Compete with your friends for the top leaderboard spot, or go toe-to-toe against them in a Nike+ Challenge. Just set a distance. Invite your friends. And race to the finish.
CAPTURE THE MOMENT
Show off your run with a thousand words. Take photos before, during and after your run. Customize them with your route, metrics, and of course, a swoosh.
Nike+ Running works with Apple Watch, giving you more ways to get updates on your wrist. To learn more, go to the Apple Watch tab in settings.
Connected for Health
By accessing your Apple Health data, Nike+ can give you even more detailed information about your run, including heart rate monitor support in-run when using a Bluetooth 4.0 enabled device like Wahoo’s Tickr products.
Please note that continued use of GPS running in the background could dramatically decrease battery life.

This update includes several bug fixes and app enhancements:
- We fixed an app crash that was occurring on launch for some runners on iPhone 6 and 6s
- We also fixed a few small bugs for runners who are listening to Spotify on their runs
Good but Could be Better
I have used the Nike+ running app for a while and find that it is easy to use and easy to navigate. I like how my running can achieve badges/ accomplishments which keep me motivated.
I use the coaching aspect of the app to keep a regime but this is where I feel the app could be better. Before a run the app gives you direction to help increase your stamina and get ready for the upcoming 10K or whatever, for example, running 4 miles the app will say have a 1 mile warm up, 2 miles at race pace and 1 mile at a higher pace. Personally I would like the app the say these at the points where I need to increase or decrease my pace.
I would also like the app to provide constructive criticism. Rather than automatically congratulating me for "getting out there", if I've had a poor run I'd like it to motivate me critically.
This is probably my most used app on my phone and I will continue to use it to reach my goals but I'd love to see some improvements to make the app more interactive with the users.
Easy to use and accurate
I love using this app to track my runs. It's easy to use, you don't have to wait more than a few seconds from starting the app to starting your run and the distance always seems to be pretty accurate and consistent with my Garmin.
I really like the heat map it shows you, highlighting the areas where you ran faster and slower in each run as well as the map tracking where you ran. You can also use on a treadmill and the distances actually seem to be more accurate than the ones displayed on my treadmill.
I haven't really made use of the community aspects of the app, but do like the encouragement you get when you beat previous personal bests and the ability to integrate with Facebook, Twitter etc.
A solid performer
I've been using the Nike+ tracking system before there was even an app and it's a very simple and intuitive way to record and review your running activity. The app allows you to take photos, play and control music, and take part in challenges with other users which is all I really use it for. There are coaching programs built in too if you want to take your training more seriously, and the website is fuss-free and clear to read. One thing I've noticed over the years, though, is that other trackers (such as Runtastic or Strava) have started to surpass the Nike app for functionality and new ideas. Still, it's a solid performer which should satisfy most users - 4 stars.
