Worst ever service

Switched to Now Patient as it was advertised as NHS approved and offered fee and easy ordering/delivering of prescriptions. This enabled me to receive prescriptions to my door. I suffer anxiety and panic attacks, so getting to chemist was difficult for me.

I was due to travel away for Christmas on Christmas Eve, so ordered a repeat prescription, what I would consider ample time on 11th December. Today the 20th December, my prescription still hasn’t been processed. It looks like I’ll spend Christmas without my medication. Thanks for that ‘Now Patient’.

If anyone is considering using the services of ‘Now Patient’ I would seriously re-consider. I phoned there customer service who tried to dismiss any blame, stating it all down to my surgery. If I’d have gone to my surgery, I would have had my medication a week ago. Therefore, defeats the whole object of the services they allegedly offer.

Developer Response

Hello John. We are sorry to hear about the delays to your order. However, due to NHS regulations, we are unable to dispense and deliver prescriptions unless your GP signs them off. In the vast majority of cases, prescriptions are signed off promptly by the GP so we are able to swiftly dispatch the order. In your case, the GP has delayed approval, causing the hold-up in delivery. The GP’s behaviour contravenes NHS England’s directives on patient choice which state that you are able to chose whichever pharmacy you want and that doctors should not hinder or attempt to influence this decision. While we always chase up any delays ourselves, we would also ask that any patient whose GP is not swiftly approving their prescriptions to contact them and restate their right to use the pharmacy of their choice. We would be happy to discuss this in more detail if you want to contact us at

Awful, dont bother to download it

This service is awful, when it was first advertised on TV a few months ago, I decided to download the app for easy access to my Asthma prescription. The app seems easy to use and convenient. Furthermore, it reduces the strain on the NHS which is a plus!

However, the app says my prescription will be available to view online in 3-5 days. I emailed them 2 weeks after and it was still not available and every time since then i have contacted them, i keep getting a standard customer service apology and i get told my prescription will be available soon.

I understand that the providers may have an influx of applicants but i have been waiting 3 months for my prescription and it is still not available. I am aware a lot of people may download this app and will assume that they can get their much needed prescription conveniently, this is not the case.

After u have made a complaint, they gave me a number to call to speak to a manager, the line is dead.

Hello. We are sorry to hear of your experience and are keen that we speak to you directly so we can resolve the issues you have been having. We believe that one of our support team has been in touch with the contact details of our Operations Director who is looking at this matter personally. If you are able to call them on the supplied number we will hopefully get the matter resolved as soon as possible. If you require anything further you can reach the support team at and they would be happy to discuss further.

I read the previous reviews and I don’t agree. All apps have teething problems when they 1st start. I love how it reminds me I need more, it took 3days to approve my medication (on a Sunday also) delivered to my door Monday!!!
So I am a very happy human and I think this app is a god send when I’ve no mobility! Thank you to the app making people for saving me and many others so many spoons ::)

Developer Response
