Any 100 km2 map tiles purchased will be updated for FREE under a revision program. Tile updates are unlimited for the life of the application*.

Map tiles once purchased through your iTunes account can be uploaded onto all devices registered to that account (i.e. if you purchase on iPhone you do not have to repurchase on iPad). To do this, simply go to "My Maps" from the menu and then tap the sync symbol (In the top right). You will need to enter your Apple id and the app will start syncing.

Users who are having difficulty in finding purchased maps should make sure they are zooming in far enough.

*or until 31st March 2016 (whichever is longer), updates will generally occur bi-annually as we update our mapping.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life..

Why are there two OS map apps for your mobile phone? This is confusing and inconvenient for users. I have my 'physical' OS Explorer maps on one app and my 'tile' maps (both Explorer and Landranger) on another. Please can we just have one app?

In addition, my downloaded 'tile' maps are without any area names, they just have map numbers! I have only downloaded 7 tiles so far, but already I find that if I forget a map number I have to open at least two or three tiles to find the correct one. If I buy any more map tiles I'll be even more confused. I know you can look up the OS UK map grid to locate the numbers, but this is also inconvenient and time-consuming.

I love the detail that OS maps give but the new apps need to be rationalised. The current set up is clearly a compromise between the old map culture and the new one of instant access via your tablet or 4G phone. Perhaps, in time, OS map apps will become more user friendly.

Os maps please read.

I do think some of the tiles you can buy are a complete con. E.g the tile Sw65 it is 98% sea and they are still charging £1.49 for it!
Os maps really need sort this out. They could add these odd tiles for free or into the tiles nearest to them.

I've paid for a lot of maps on this app. I think the maps are over priced and you can get the same maps for cheaper on other apps. I still don't understand why it costs more as this is the official OS map app. Only reason I've stuck with this app and paying a bit more is because it says you get free updates for life. (Well the apps life).

On another note I do love the simple and clean design of the app. It's very easy to use and looks good. Also being able to use the maps on your iPhone or iPad is a real bonus.

Os maps really need to match or be cheaper than the other companies who sell their maps for cheaper. They also need to sort out the over priced empty tiles. Then this would be a 5 star app.

Great app

Contrary to what one reviewer says, you just pay once and can then use a map on both an iPad and iPhone. I regularly use my iPad to plan and save a route which then gets automatically sent to my phone. I can then open the route when i get to the start of the walk and follow it. The mapping itself is slightly crisper than on the rival maps and everything works really smoothly. I walk dozens of miles a week and wouldn't be without this app.
