What's New in Version 3.1.1
Updated legal information
The latest version of this app is awesome! Updates no longer delete saved trails (seemed to be an issue with the old version) and the look and feel is much improved.
I use the app for mountain biking and it performs flawlessly. It gives me total confidence to explore off the beaten track and I love the ability to download gpx files for organised rides and from magazines.
Other than the hassle of taking it out of my pocket (don't want to mount it on my bars) it outperforms standalone gps units I've seen, mostly because of the iPhones crystal clear display.
I use this app a fair amount when I'm in the UK but I am just so disappointed that it is not gaining the new features required to make this the awesome app that it has the potential to be!
Key features that need to be added include the ability to add POI and for the maps to have elevation data included. Elevation data would make the estimated time of planned routes more accurate and would also allow for a comprehensive route summery to be presented.
As others have said, the tiles are still pretty expensive as you inevitably need three or four for a decent route which makes it a rather expensive way of getting your maps.
Finally an apple watch app would be a great companion to the phone app, I know it's probably not a top priority but if tied in with the heart rate monitor etc could allow for some really cool new features.
A complete saviour when you're where Google Maps doesn't go
But you pushed out an update to my phone, using my bandwidth, just to "update legal information"? That's ridiculous.
