Description

Introducing the world’s first digital pack sizing tool from Osprey. Using the camera in your device, the Osprey PackSizer™ will match your torso size to the right pack size across the entire Osprey range. In 3 easy steps.

1: Take a full length photo

2: Mark your height on the photo

3: Locate your upper and lower torso points

You’ll then be presented with a table of results providing your correct size for every Osprey pack, meaning you’ll always have the ideal fitting pack.

View the details of each pack from the entire Osprey range within the PackSizer™ app. Should you wish to buy a product, the app will pass you directly to your chosen pack on the Osprey website where you can complete your transaction securely.

For first time users, PackSizer™ includes step-by-step video tutorials to show you how to use the app correctly.

PackSizer™ comes with instructions for use in English, German and French and you can select your gender to get an accurate measurement.

So you convinced your partner to photograph you; and she does so reluctantly; opps the app can’t figure the measurement , it generates an apathy error; you try to reselect the photo oh dear the developers have insisted you can’t select a photo, it needs to be fresh ( you coulda had a growth spurt in the last minute I suppose) , you turn to your partner, she holds you in contempt, god if only this company would give me the measurements , and a measuring tape would of sorted it. Also a measuring tape doesn’t need your name and email address , I’m assuming they want to put me in touch with people with like minded torsos. Give me the option to swipe left for actual measurements and to skip the strange man video , I don’t want to give personal details just to ensure I bought the right backpack , additional why not make an informative app about packing the Osprey and accessories with community advice kinda like what’s on your website. The website also blocks me from using the regular site , any reference to size directs to this bad app. Gonna have to get to a desktop ; I believe the technical term is FUBAR’d! .

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are currently in the process of making some major changes to the Osprey PackSizer app. we require that you take a new picture every time as we do not want to store any of your personal information that you do not want us to hence when the app is reopened you have to start the process again. We do not require you to watch any videos or input your name and email address instead there is a skip option below the main buttons. If you would like manual sizing instructions please email care@ospreyeurpe.com and we will be more than happy to get these emailed to you.

Keeps saying I am only 5'4'' even though keep changing it to 5'7''.
Consequently won't let me move the "head & feet box" so that it stretches down to feet - keeps stopping at ankles however hard I try! Consequently says M one time S next. I had old Exoos 46 which was a S so maybe for the 38 I should also go for S also - but who knows!

Developer Response

Hello,
Currently PackSizer does not retain any data that are entered into the app, so each time the app is reloaded it starts from scratch, returning to the default values. At the time of development the average height of women in the UK was 5'4" which is why this value was selected.
With the "head & feet box" we are aware of the limitations that occur when sizing and are working on a fix. In the meantime we recommend that you take and image slightly further away so that there is plenty of room at the top and bottom of the image to compensate for this oversight. As for the Sizing, if the S in the Exos 36 fits you OK then the S would be the suitable size for the Exos 38.

Useless for solo-use!

Not possible to use this app by yourself as it requires taking a full-length photo. There isn't a timer function on the camera nor the possibility of importing a picture. Nice idea, poor execution.
