Outcast for Watch 9+

In terms of what it can do I think it is the most capable app for listening to podcasts on your watch as you can actually choose which podcasts to move over unlike the Apple podcasts app. You can also transfer podcasts over 4hrs long to your watch which you cannot do with overcast. The thing that I would say is this apps most disappointing issue is that you have to constantly keep your watches screen on by tapping it whilst you wait half an hour for the transfer which is actually really annoying. Seeing as I followed the instructions and disabled my Bluetooth meaning the podcasts downloaded over WiFi you would think that the download time would be a minute or two like on a smartphone but no unfortunately this can take a very long time.

I paid up in the belief that,as you state,all I needed was this app and my watch to play a podcast on,great I thought. Paid. Downloaded. Can’t do anything as Apple restricted all sound output on our devices from third party devs. Turns out you are correct lol
UPDATE : GOT IT WORKING!
Anyway I have finally faffed around enough to get it working without my phone by using Bluetooth headphones and will make do with those. You should make it clearer that we need to use the Bluetooth for sound output. Once working I can see I will like it,it’s easy to move stuff over from the phone and then play over AirPods or our BT speakers. I hope you add more and more content for us who don’t always know where urls are for podcasts. It’s a five star app now I sussed it out and am listening so thank you...

I think most people would agree that the most important feature of a podcast app is the ability to download the content you want to play. If you’re willing to invest the time in learning about how your Apple Watch uses Bluetooth and WiFi and know how to check if your WiFi network is running on 5GHz or 2.4GHz (and potentially change the band your router is configured to broadcast on) then you’ll probably get downloads working in the end. If you don’t know how to deal with technology then save yourself the money and frustration and download a different Podcast app.
