Ratings and Reviews
I never leave reviews but this deserves it. I have used the Ovia Fertility App since 2015 when we were trying for our first, and then I used the Ovia Pregnancy App as soon as we got our BFP. I loved it. I downloaded a few different Apps to try but Ovia was the only one I liked. The user interface is clean and uncluttered. It is easy to navigate and very user friendly. During one of the updates they made it more personalisable in terms of colours and themes, and I love that there are four different options for baby’s size (sometimes j didn’t know what one of the fruits/vegetables was so it’s nice to be able to see other suggestions). I also like that the App stores your data. I am currently pregnant with Baby #3 and I love being able to navigate back to check if my symptoms differ from my first and second. The Ovia family of Apps have been my best friends for the past three or four years and I’m so grateful for them!
Great, but needs a UK version
I like this app and I find it a lot more factual and useful than a lot of apps that are available. However, much of the content from recipes in cups to health care information and the antenatal and postnatal care varies between the apps prompts and what actually takes place during regular appointments here in the UK, for example being asked if cervical measurement have been taken. The MyQ insights are another aspect which isn’t particularly useful as many questions, especially those surrounding maternity pay/ leave, are very different in the UK compared to America, like wise with health care insurence related questions.
Other than this, I like the way the app works and looks and I find it simple to use. I particularly enjoy looking at the stages of development which are taking place within my tummy 😁.
Good but dangerous advice on community
I do feel the community needs to be watched better, there are women telling others it’s normal for their baby’s movements to slow down near the end. This is very dangerous advice and could result in a still birth because people are being told this is normal.. it’s never normal for a baby’s movements to slow down and should always be checked out by a professional! The community needs to be looked into and any dangerous advice should be deleted before someone loses a baby because of this. Apart from this issue the app is good. Please anyone worried about movements ring a health professional and check out the charity Kicks Count for more information on baby’s movements.
