Now a generic notepad

Paper is an award winning app due to its beautiful interface and simple function therefore hugely appealing to professional creatives. As a photographer and filmmaker I used it for ideas and story boarding whilst also drawing spaceships for my son. I was a massive fan of this app, I felt that 53 understood the people who used their app, that we were all on the same page. Apparently not, whilst new functions are welcome they have totally misunderstood their own marketplace and become just like any other note/sketch app. The worst part is that if it is now like every other app in this genre it needs better features, 'layers' being most obvious and true pressure sensitivity for Pencil. Whilst before users would overlook these annoying flaws in the programme that was because the interface and simplicity complemented each other, well now that they've well and truly blown that they had better get their act together because Procreate is now far superior.

I give up...:(

I read an article once about how great design remains unchanged. If you look at iPhone or Porsche for example, they got it right the first time and they kept the design unchanged.

What made paper great in the past was the illusion that you are not using an app but an actual objects. It was simple and magical. You had a empty table and a notebook you could open and flip through. There was a pallet with tools and no artificial buttons.

There was no app like it and sadly there never will be...

Paper went from being one of a kind to one of a million productivity apps.

Familiar notebooks are gone and I don't understand the explanation how is it necessary for iPhone's UI.

The iconic rewind to undo has been made unusable not to mention adding two more artificial buttons that do the same.

Three more buttons added to accommodate additional features which I don't mind but would never use. Apple has added tons of new features to the iPhone over the years and yet the home screen remained unchanged to this day.

The magnifying glass showed the competition how to properly zoom on iPad. You could move it around, adjust the size and still know the sheet boundaries... Gone

Dear paper, I know you are trying to compete with new notes app since some of your original features were implemented. But ask yourself, upon having two identical apps which one I delete?

UPGRADE broke it now.... Poor upgrade don't be bothered all they want is your details now

Updated within days resulting in, now when I Went to, learn paper, diagram flow charts, then grey box with twirling thing goes on and on and on and on and on.
Can't do a thing nothing works Had to close it altogether. Repeated same thing again and again. Needs serious testing before release I thought iTunes checked apps before releasing them.

Updated within days of release of iPhone version. Stopped using it ages ago, as it was £6 to buy brushes then, and very basic, they gave them away in the end, why do you need to give away your details to draw, nope don't think so. Logging on to draw why ?, It is saving onto there servers, your creations are not yours anymore on your iPad, but on there servers, why ?.
Dropbox and other online storages exist for that, for you and you alone, why do they need my geolocation to draw, my IP address, and a lot more about my iPad and phone settings,
sorry 1984 was a film not real life.
They say in the app they don't pass on your details, only under court orders, and when they sell the company or the app.
Get real guys it's for drawing end of, not data collection. Serious violation of the term painting , it's for pleasure not data mining.
Can I have my money back
Deleting it.
