Ratings and Reviews
Edited - They don’t take your money up front
The previous review was in error, the charge on my account was a holding charge to check the acct rather than actually charging me. Rating changed to 3* until I’ve used the service.
Excellent no hassle parcel collection, a trouble free experience and I must say the people are Parcelly we’re very helpful when I rang to resolve a little issue, many thanks
Fantastic idea, very poorly executed
I was so excited when I found Parcelly. It's the perfect solution to a real-life problem I often face.
But Parcelly is so badly implemented that I can't help but to caution everyone against using it, at least until you've "tested" your preferred location to make sure it's going to work.
I've tried Parcelly three separate times over about 3-4 months. The first time, the location didn't know what Parcelly even was. They accepted the parcel, but never updated the status (i.e. so I did not know it had arrived). I had to contact Parcelly myself after a few weeks, and then they checked with the location, and that's how I knew the parcel arrived. I go to pick up the parcel and the clerk didn't know what to do -- he didn't know what Parcelly was or what he was supposed to do with the pickup codes or anything. He eventually gave it to me after comparing the name on my ID with the name on the parcels.
Not ideal, but I figured maybe I just had bad luck at a dodgy location, so I tried Parcelly again with two other parcels. This second location was even worse. Same problem as before -- I needed to manually poke Parcelly to verify the status of my parcels. But worse was since I waited so long, they wanted to charge me extra for holding on to the parcels longer than usual.
Picking up these parcels was also a huge hassle. The man had no idea what Parcelly was or what to do. But worse still, he refused to even give me the parcels at all. I was standing there literally looking at the boxses with my name on it, with my ID in one hand, codes in the other -- and he wouldn't give them up. It's the only time I've ever had a very loud and public argument with a store clerk before; it was very frustrating to be told "it's your problem not mine"! I eventually called Parcelly then and there and handed the man my phone to talk to Parcelly directly.
So. Great idea, really good app with a really good UX -- but absolutely terrible in real-world execution. The service is completely useless if the locations don't actually know how to handle Parcelly. This is a failure of onboarding the staff at these locations, and that is wholly up to Parcelly to do. Until (unless?) they solve that, I would stay far far away.
