great sequell

This is a brilliant game, but it's so easy to get stuck on, obviosuly I didn't because im a genious.

oh so many flaws in an otherwise great game

This could be an amazing game. It isn't because too many niggling little flaws get in the way.
There were a few things about part one that didn't quite work, and they are more pressing now, since the devs have had a lot of feedback + time to fix them. Issues like non-responsive map clicks. Scenery getting in the way of movement. having to move to several different positions to get the cursor to show an action [I discovered the machine that provides upgrades late in the game by sheer chance, having clicked on it several times without response already]. Those are all annoying, but the real killer is combat.

in at least 50% of the Special Attack windows, the GO! sign *gets in the way of the UI*. This is just completely stupid. I have frequently found that keypresses are non-responsive, which makes trying to collect Overkills hugely frustrating. Further, the final specials for each character spread the attack, meaning a lot less damage to each foe and reduced ability to collect overkills. They have stun effects, but they don't last anywhere near long enough. I'm now at the final scene in the game and stopped using the high level Specials quite some time ago. While I appreciate the tactical advantages of having a multi-foe attack, the damage is nowhere near high enough for such challenging sequences [I think I managed Tycho's lvl 3 Special once]. In many later fights, standard attacks do more damage than Specials.

The many, many good things about part 1 remain. The humour is great, the graphics superb and the game remains fun to play, even if the story is slightly less interesting.

Still a definite Buy.
