√ Smart search
The smart search can use its own internal database or search the internet for additional products. The smart search learns as you use it so the more you use the app the quicker it gets, bringing products you have used before to the top of search results and correcting spelling mistakes to help you find what you are really looking for.
√ Reporting and Graphs
You can monitor your progress with the included reports and graphs. If you need to take a report with you, just print it off!
ⓘ Will the diet work for me?
The calculations used by this app work for the vast majority of people. If you are an extreme athlete, or have a very high body mass index ('morbidly obese, category III') the app can still track your diet however it will be unable to suggest a daily calorific allowance. If you fall into either group you should consult your doctor to discuss a suitable calorific allowance and nutritional profile and enter these manually.
ⓘ Product Support
We believe the Perfect Diet Tracker is quite simply the best app of its kind available and want to keep it that way!

Ratings and Reviews
Excellent weight loss aide.
I only downloaded the app a couple of hours ago, but have found it very eay to use. Having lost 6 stone with weightwatchers before they changed their system, at which point I hit a brick wall, I am sure that this is just what I need to get me back on track. Before they messed the diet up, I always used to love the weight watchers online tracking service and found that thorough tracking is key to weight loss. This app is so much quicker and easier to use than weight watchers online tracker, which only becomes quick to use once you had built up a long list of favourite foods. I have just added 3 days of food within minutes and that included adding my own chicken and veg soup that had many ingredients. Adding exercise is easy and the list of what exercise and sporting activity you can add is very comprehensive. There has been no food that I have been unable to find on the tracker and I have sat here for ages inputting most of the things I eat to test it!
The one disapointment is that when I came to sync my iphone and iPad so that I can fill the tracker in whenever I eat anything, I found that this was an app for the mac only and not available for the iPhone. Therefore I will still have to write everything down, however I will try and get round this problem by planning everything I eat the day before, so that I don't have to worry about going over my daily allowance.
No mobile or web interface
I have used similar apps that run on the web and on my phone. While Perfect Diet Tracker is good, I feel it is missing a web interface or some other input method. Not all of us use Macs all day long, and keeping track on paper defeats the object slightly as you have to add up your remaining allowances yourself! The user interface is great, entering foods is relatively simple, and so on. But there is also no mobile app (iPhone or otherwise) to ease the task of tracking what you have eaten through the day.
The app gains an extra star purely for the automatic re-calculation of calorific allowance day-by-day. If you are losing weight too quickly, it will suggest you slightly raise your calories, and vice versa. The calculation of carbs, fat and protein is also automatic and nicely displayed with a pie chart (excuse the pun); it can be customised to specialised diets. These are both great features and something I felt was missing from other similar apps that I have used in the past.
I do like Perfect Diet Tracker and it does the job well, but it is rather expensive for something that is purely Mac based. Hopefully something mobile will follow - and ideally it won't be too pricey.
*****UPDATE***** to "it doesnt doesn't ………on the tin"
I unreservedly withdraw my earlier comment. The measure of any company is not so much its product its the customer support. Seemingly I had a buggy download, I repoorted this to BYONI and their support and response has been nothing short of outstanding. My installation is now up and runnig correctly, doing exactly what it says on the tin, so apologies to BYONI for being a little hasty in my comment, and I wholeheartly recommend this product and this company, superb!
tIf you are a UK citizen, forget this. It doesnt find Tesco, M&S, Asda or Sainsbury's, it doesn't find brown bread roll, bun , bap or any other name you might call a simple bread bun. It doesnt find cappuccino (costa) or any other popular brand for that matter, it didnt even find starbucks and thats a US company! It may sound utopia, automatic calorie counting, but I fnd myself creating my own database which is a pain, cumbersome when you dont have nutritional info on hand
Nice idea, maybe works well for the USA but frankly for the UK market stay clear
