I’ve had a Lumea for over 5 years but only recently started using the app when my old device became faulty and was replaced by Philips.
The reminders and having a treatment schedule prepared are very useful features, but that’s where it ends. Running through the tutorial each treatment is tiresome.
My main complaint is that you can’t manually adjust when you’ve recorded a treatment. Realistically I’m never going to have the app open and record as I go, and I’m likely to record the treatment a day or two later when I remember. Because you can only record a treatment on the current date, if you forget and go back in a day later, the app will record the treatment as being carried out a day late and push back the treatment schedule a day. So now even though I know my next treatment is in 13 days, the app won’t let me record another for 14 days. I either have to keep remembering it’s a day off, or change my treatment day (which isn’t convenient, I chose a day of the week when I’d have time for treatments).
So it looks like I’m back to setting up my own calendar reminder like I used to before the app in the end.
I’d like to see two new features -
- a “when did you do your treatment” option. Even if this was set to go back a day or two it would be useful.
- the ability to turn off the tutorial when recording a treatment and basically just record when you did it, what setting was used and how it felt.

Due to popular request, we’ve added a long-awaited new feature. Now you can report completed treatments retrospectively. So, if you forget to mark it done on the day of treatment you can also do it later. Don’t miss out! Download the latest version now.
The Ipl machine itself is great. This app needs work. I know there was an update to let you put retrospectively that you did a treatment but either I’m mistaken and this feature is too difficult to find, or it only comes up as an option if it’s the first treatment you’ve done. I did my third treatment last week and forgot to put in the app that I’d done it at the time, and now I can’t put it in on the correct date.
Also the app needs to have a feature to delete treatments - I’ve accidentally put that I’ve done treatments on certain days just to test out how to use the app and then couldn’t delete them afterwards.
Finally, the app needs to ask you ‘what setting did you use’ and ‘how did it feel’ after every treatment, and then at the next treatment it should repeat this info to you again!! I can’t remember what setting I use for every part of my body. I’m just using my calendar instead of this app at the moment tbh because it’s way less hassle and more accurate than using this app.

App no longer opens since last update
After the last update 6 months ago, I reported that this app no longer runs on iOS 10, it starts to open but then crashes back to the springboard within a second, it does the same thing on two different iPhones, so for the last 6 months I have been unable to monitor or track my treatments. A new update for this app came out today, but they have STILL not fixed the iOS 10 bug so I still can't use it. POOR SHOW PHILIPS, your app requirements says iOS 10 or above but IT DOES NOT WORK ON iOS 10, the dev responded saying 'we will look in to this and fix it', but has clearly not even bothered looking for this bug. When I first bought this device, it was very useful, now without the app I miss treatments all the time because I forget, do I need to sue Philips for 50% of my money back because you have removed 50% of the product that I bought, will that make you fix the iOS 10 bug? Or do you not care now you have my £500? Why can't you leave a negative star rating for developers like this.
