Plane Finder 3D tracks flights live around the world in 3D airspace.
A brand new way to view live air traffic, it’s fascinating to watch real time travel patterns around the world.
Why not watch the planes stacking up to land at your favourite airport, or see planes “follow the sun” across the Atlantic. What time do different countries and continents come alive?
Once you’ve found some interesting air space, use the ARKit feature to bring the planes right into your living room!
Simply spin the globe and zoom in to find something interesting to explore. If you’re looking for a specific flight, just type the flight number into search. Or type a place or airport into search to zoom straight there.
Tap on a plane to see Departure and Arrival Airports, Flight Number, Registration and Airline as well as Altitude, Speed and Heading.
With another tap you can even join a plane in flight and whiz around it for some stunning aerial views.
Share your screenshots with friends and family, maybe your flight passing over your home?
Already a Plane Finder user? Tap on a plane and there’s a handy button to switch into the main Plane Finder app straight to the same plane on a traditional map where you can drill down into all the extra data we know you love.
Plane Finder 3D uses the same trusted flight tracking data that powers Plane Finder, the original live plane tracking app top ranking since 2009.

Potential with improvement
I purchased this app expecting it to have all of the regular Plane Finder features but instead it appears to only be partly finished. The 3D models of the planes are average at best and there are only a limited number of 3D model types. The app also does not state what type of aircraft it is (as you can’t tell by the 3D model) and nor does it give you nearly as much information on the aircraft as the regular app. I think this app could be brilliant but it needs to contain more 3D models and have all of the regular Plane Finder features as well, regardless whether or not this is meant to be a companion app. Hoping to see improvement soon! This could really end up being a fantastic app.
Plane Finder 3D is at the moment a companion to Plane Finder. Giving you a new view into the app. We found that people wanted this new view but didn't want to get bogged down with all the technical details.
Plane Finder 3D will evolve and we will include more models going forwards too.
I had the previous version of this app and to be quite honest it was not the best purchase I have ever made. This new version is much, much better and I’m sure will be further improved in due course. It’s a shame that a lot more of the features from the standard app are not replicated here but I guess that’s down to the tech work required to achieve that. In the meantime, it is a very interesting twist on the norm and being able to see step climbs/ descents in 3D is great. Keep up the development work guys
Thank you! And yes it really does show a better picture with it being in 3D. Feels a lot more true to life and offers a perspective not seen on a 2D top down map.
At the moment we see this as a companion app that works alongside Plane Finder but if there is enough demand we may include some of the features in Plane Finder 3D as well.
Not worth the price in its current form
I was very disappointed with this having been pleased with plane finder for a few years.
Frankly I thought it was rather boring after the novelty wears off. You can switch from viewing the plane in the 3D app to locating it in the normal app, but not vice Versa, which would be much more useful.
The hanging “ribbon” which is designed to show actual track over ground seems to be a poor solution and it would be nice to be able to turn it off, plus minimise the information frame so that you can get an uncluttered view of the sky and ground.
I could find no instruction or settings options.
I trust it will get better.
