What's New in Version 2.1.1
THE FUTURE IS HERE!
-The Far Future world has arrived featuring new plants and new zombies… from the future!
-Power up with new Power Tiles and increase Plant Food effects across the board.
-Zen Garden is back! Tend to your garden and be rewarded with extra BOOM in your blooms.
This game has been on quite a journey since its release. The change in the map proved unpopular and was accompanied by an unpleasant increase in difficulty which served only to reach further into your wallet. The Far Future update seems to have alleviated this concern, as the difficulty has returned to a far more reasonable level. The addition of the Zen Garden is a pleasant surprise, and I'm chuffed to bits over how well it has been applied under the freemium model. I really have no complaints to make!
Two things cause me to withhold that fifth star. The first is the simple fact that I dislike the freemium model and wish this game didn't use it. Whilst Plants vs. Zombies 2 is certainly on the thin end of the wedge, I'd be much happier if it simply wasn't on the wedge at all. The second is that I've noticed issues with the game's framerate, and I'm playing on an iPad mini which is by no means a weak piece of kit. It's certainly not gamebreaking, but it's something which nevertheless requires attention.
Overall, I am pleased with the current state of the game, and hope dearly that PopCap continue this trend and avoid doing anything to stuff it up again. Good work chaps.
After getting over the difference in graphics versus the original game, I found myself really enjoying this game. It has kept the good bits of the old version and brought in new elements too (plus you get twice as much sun money from each sun thingy over the original game = never a bad thing!). There were a few challenging levels (level 18 in Wild West being the worst- I noticed really bad frame rate issues even on an iPad, and it was properly difficult too). I'd like to see the boss level for the future as I can't seem to play that- maybe it's not released yet?- and the purchase-only plants should be made available through gameplay or at least some of them. All in all, a worthy sequel to an amazing game.
Improved so much!
Plants vs Zombies 2 Started out as a money grabber, stealing all your money until you are broke. Now, PvZ2 is now a brilliant game, varying with challenge and brilliant humor that comes in the form of Crazy Dave. This does come with problems though, I sometimes get lag with can be very annoying. One feature i would like to see is a connection between PvZ2 and Garden Warfare, such as new Items and Abilities! Overall, this game has improved a lot. I give it 4/5 stars.
