Ratings and Reviews
Generally great game
So far playing this I’ve enjoyed 90% of it, having not suffered from slow loading times like some other reviews mentioned and enjoying collecting figures and growing my team.
However there are two issues that I’ve come across whilst playing. Firstly, as much as I enjoy playing the quest levels, for some reason some of these levels force me to use the AI for the whole game, really taking away from the enjoyment, furthermore these AI-led games will always end with my game freezing on the victory screen, forcing me to shut down and restart the app.
Another improvement I would like to see is a library feature for the figures, at the moment I find it tedious having to swap new figures into my party and then out again just to see what abilities they have. Something inspired my the main game Pokédex would be quite fitting as it also amplifies The collectibility of figures.
Nonetheless this has been a really enjoyable game from the start and I look forward to seeing where it goes.
The Loading Game
Don’t get me wrong... I actually like the game. It’s simple enough to get the hang of, and I always love collecting games, trying to get the rare and super rare figures.
This game would be far more enjoyable however, if every single action you take didn’t bring up the loading wheel, connecting to the server every single time, sending and receiving information for absolutely no reason. I just logged on, wanted to collect the rewards in my message box, which took no less then 5 minutes. Every click meant a loading wheel. Even when clicking a button, the screen would freeze up, only to give the dreaded loading wheel again, endlessly spinning away, doing god knows what.
Even with the single player pre-downloaded game, every single action needs to send information to the server, when really, if you’ve downloaded the app data, all this should be instantaneous!
To play the game takes hours to make even a few steps of process through the story, and it’s getting tiresome. Come on Pokemon company, you’re so much better then this!
Good but slow
Ok, I love Pokemon Duel and I’d hate to give up on this, especially since it’s very fun to use and it gets my brain working with all the strategies and moving with your Pokemon. But, there obviously HAS to be a “but”, I don’t understand one thing that makes me stand there just baffled: why is it SO slow? Obviously the simplicity of this game cannot affect the time it needs to set up a few things? I’d love to agree this game is perfect despite the levels of hardship I am forced to endure in during my time on it, nevertheless I struggle with my patience as EVERY time something happens (like I finish a duel) I must wait for a few seconds until I can continue. Another madly annoying thing is that it freezes now and then and I have to refresh the app. I’m not sure if anyone else has this problem, yet I think it would be good for the problems to be fixed instantaneously.
