What's New in Version 3.3.13
Updates and bug fixes
Great when it works
I have got a high end Music Fidelity Ms6 amp and matching M6SCD / dac I wanted to be able to connect this to the music side of my AV system direct for streaming music without having to turn on my Yamaha rxa-2050 on all the time to help save electric too from having both amplifiers on when just listening in stereo. After trawling through the net I came across this Pure jongo A2. I'm familiar with the brand owing a couple of radio alarms clocks, I find them well made and very good quality for a good price. The A2 doesn't disappoint in this area really well put together with digital outs so I can use the dac in my CD player to upgrade from the decent on board one.
It's very easy to setup to the home network, basically plug it in connect to your home broadband then leave it for 10 mins to update then get to play with the app. It's basic which I like but when playing tunes from my iTunes stored on my device I often get a message saying (name of song) unable to stream! Not sure why some albums play perfectly others won't. It's a shame because I would have given it 5 stars if it worked all the time because the sound on best quality setting is very good, least to say the A2 only cost £15 which is unbeatable.
How do you queue tracks
Currently you browse to a folder and tap a track and it adds that track and all other tracks in that folder to the now playing list and start playing from the track you tapped. If you browse to another folder and click on a track it stops playing the current track removes it and all previous added tracks from now playing list and adds all the other tracks in that folder to the list.
Is it possible to click one track and have that added to the now playing list and start playing it. Then you click one track at a time and it adds it to now playing list to be played when the previous track has finished as most other media player apps do.
Easy to use and works well!
I've received my two Jongo S3X's today and the app is simple and intuitive. I successfully paired both speakers and have them connected to my home network (Asus RT-AC68U) with no issues or dropouts. I would suggest that anyone having issues with the Wi-Fi should upgrade their routers from the freebies you get from the likes of BT & Virgin.
I like the app and whilst it's not as comprehensive as the SONOS equivalent it meets my expectations given the lower pricing of the speakers (which are great!)
I'm pleasantly pleased with my first venture into the Pure ecosystem.
