Returned the UA Band, kept the app

Bought a UA Band some weeks ago and that’s how I discovered this app. I ended up liking the app more than the band. The app rocks for the following reasons:

1. The circle with the four quadrants gives you the most important information at a glance;

2. It connects with loads of services (Polar, Fitbit, Garmin, Moov, etc);

3. It gives two options for logging food (via MyFitnessPal or via one of three estimates, the latter option being much easier).

Though the band was awesome (tracked sleep super and resting HR really well and looked very nice), I eventually returned it because I wanted something that could also serve as my everyday watch (I am now waiting for a Galaxy Gear S2 Classic to arrive - fingers crossed I like it).

So my plan is to use the app for tracking workouts (in conjunction with a Polar OH1) and food/water
consumption, and use the S2 for day to day activity tracking (sleep and resting HR primarily, as I don’t bother counting steps). The ideal thing would be for data captured by the S2 to be accessible from the UA Record app. May update this review after I have tried to make that happen.

Great potential but too many bugs

This app has so much potential but it is still plagued by bugs despite recent updates. It records are great range of activities and as far as tracking goes it is usually good. However, it can often be slow, freeze or crash when you are trying to start tracking a workout. Also sometimes after you have finished and saved a workout (or so you think!) it continually starts up tracking again and it does not matter how many times you think you have stopped, saved or discarded the workout it just keeps restarting! The only way I have found to stop it is to actually delete the app and reinstall it which is quite annoying!

Great app but small bug currently

Really good app. Great that it’s part of MFP group and so can link to MFP, MapMyRun etc and has an Apple Watch app. However whilst talking about the fact the it has an Apple Watch app, that app is a little tricky to use consistently as whenever you are tracking an activity, finish and save it, if you have hit one of your Apple Watch targets, the Apple Watch kicks you out of the app to go to your target achievement and then the app won’t load again. Every time I have to remove the app from my watch and reload it on again for it to reboot and work. Little annoying but whilst it doesn’t happen every time it really should be fixed.
