FAIL ...

Used Redux Encoder v1.2.6 soo much and couldnt wait to install v2.0 when i saw it in the App Store, especially with the comment about it being Lion (10.7) ready ... but ... where are all the advanced settings? As before there is no iPad preset so i always used to render my movies at iPad res using the advanced settings but now you cant do this?!

If you have no idea how to convert files or what settings to change and have an iPhone or iPod then this is perfect. if however you want more control over your files as was the way in v1.2.6 then stick with the original!!

My biggest regret is not backing up the previous version as now i am stuck with v2.0.

If the next update restores Advanced Settings & info such as time remaining in a clearer way then this would be 5 stars !!

works well enough for my needs

as i understand it, this app is based on code from VisualHub. so far it has worked well transcoding MKV and WMV to iDevice compliant MP4 on Lion GM (i have found HandBrake has issues on Lion and can't do WMV anyway without faffing around with Flip4Mac which i can't be bothered to do just to get AppleTV encoded content).

so, it has a narrow function - but if you want to transcode to iDevice compliant MP4 this is worth a look. however be aware that originally VisualHub relied a lot on applescript and the code is 32-bit so in its current form is not particularly future-proof. but right now, it's working well for me in ReduxEncoder form, and is good value compared to other options (eg Flip4Mac Pro + Toast or Compressor or Episode or Sorenson or whatever)
