Reigns: Her Majesty is the revolutionary follow-up to the smash swipe ‘em up hit Reigns. A cultural renaissance has bestowed the world with a new era of knowledge and enlightenment but greed and jealousy still conspire against the benevolent queen. Outwit and outlast those that would seek to depose you and your husband by swiping left or right, making just (or unjust) decisions on all manner of royal matters. Maintain the balance between the kingdom’s most powerful factions, use mystical items from your inventory, and navigate the increasingly complex politics and personal relationships of your dynasty.
New Kingdom, New Drama: Your royal decrees and unpredictable requests of the people will shape both your time on the throne and the future of your dynasty. Carefully navigate the foolish politics and emotional pleas of the kingdom’s eccentric subjects to find balance between the most powerful factions of the land.
Mystical Inventory: Find and upgrade five special items in a new inventory system. Use your powerful items on character cards and unlock special paths in the ever more complex narrative of your kingdom.
Royal Challenges: Reach specific goals set before each new monarch’s reign to unlock new sets of cards and new directions to take the story of your dynasty.
Nerial and Friends: Reigns: Her Majesty is a collaboration between François Alliot (design/programming), Arnaud de Bock (art), Jim Guthrie (music), and Leigh Alexander (narrative director).

Doing your bit for the Queen
This game is excellent, genuinely excellent. The writing is some of the best writing I’ve seen in a game, several times the cards I’ve made me laugh out loud. It approaches the topic of feminism with the sort of light humorous angle you wouldn’t expect of such a popular game, the MRA cult talking about free speech or the witch labelling assassination attempts as ‘problematic’ and asking if revenge was ‘toxic’. I’ve found myself print screening responses often to send to mates. Or when it’s Scorpio season and the option is let’s get messy.
My only problem is that I think it’s glitched. I know this is true in some minor ways, such as not allowing my Queen to gain the achievement the innocent despite havin now been found innocent twice. I also suspect that it has glitched in a major way, at least for my game. I am in year 2604 on my 100+ queen and still! No option to upgrade the perfume. The witch has never given me the time capsule dialogue. Either I have to do something to trigger this, tho none of the online guides nor in game
Hints point to this being true, or for whatever reason I’m locked out of achieving the end I’ve worked towards (I’ve collected everything else). I’ve downloaded the latest patch hoping that it will be solved, but if not it will be a pretty grim end to what has been up to this point a sick experience.
Even better than the original
I’ve bought Reigns and Reigns: Her Majesty on a couple of different systems now but after buying the bundle for my new phone I played Her Majesty properly for the first time - and wow, it’s even better than the original, better love options, more in-depth choices, more interesting writing that approaches a few interesting topics in a really well done way, great characters, nicely balanced. Well done Nerial for creating my all time favourite mobile game <3
