What's New in Version 2.1.1
NEW YORK (Reuters) – Riding high with election fever after both major US political party conventions, developers worked through the night to release an the latest version of the Reuters TV app. This release delivers 360º video within selected Featured programmes, picture-in-picture viewing for iPad users, and other video streaming quality improvements.
“I’m delighted,” said Sarah Cummings, a Reuters TV viewer in Colorado. “Seeing the news from every angle is exhilarating, while picture-in-picture viewing on iPad makes my morning commute even more productive!”
Analysts were broadly upbeat about the announcement, although some questioned when recordings of live feeds, a previously announced feature, would be available. “The clock’s ticking,” said industry expert Elizawell Cobeth. “With everything going on at the moment I’d love to be able to tune into events I’ve missed.” A highly-placed Reuters TV executive assured analysts that live feed replay functionality is in the final stages of development and should be available later this year.
Spokespeople for Reuters TV refused to comment further, noting that they appreciated all user feedback and that further updates are planned soon. The team can be reached at hello@reuters.tv.
