Crashes every time I try to open it

This app seemed great until I added an extra filter option to either show trad or sport climbs in Dorset, I had purchased the entire Dorset booklet as such and all worked ok. We are climbing specifically in Portland which is known for its sport climbing and many site are full of sport climbers so we were looking for an area more suited to read climbing, added the filter no problem as described then as soon as I turned it on the app crashed, tried to open it and the app crashed, reset my phone and tried again and the app crashed, even deleted the app re downloaded updated purchases re downloaded the booklet and tried the filter again - app crashed. Advertised as being suited to this type of search but now can’t even open the app to send a trouble shooting query to the designer....... also as seen in other notes the climb length would be handy, it does sometimes show the height of the top of the crag but not a noted distance for each climb which is a bit disappointing. In general it’s a good idea but needs a bit of work to make it worth while. And a fix for the issue would be great

Developer Response

Apologies for the filter crash. This has been fixed in the newest release (2.3.2).

Long awaited Western Grit as its one of my favourite areas but disappointed as it’s more expensive than I bought the book for and from sample it has inconsistencies with topos colour coding and lines. I would also suggest that route length is included in the descriptions as it’s essential for some trad routes! Well I think it is anyway. Fix it and if the price becomes reasonable then I’ll get the electronic version. Till then the book I have will suffice. Also there are some wild inconsistencies in grading of some Kalymnos routes to the official guide book that I have noticed, it may be worth revising. On a positive note it’s still a great app and well worth having but don’t try and make it too fancy. Keeping it practical might be a better bet. Thanks for all the hard work on it so far! Keep it up, I’m still a fan.

Developer Response

Thanks for your feedback and positive comments. We have found a bug in the data which has meant that Western Grit had around 49 incorrect colour dots. These are being corrected and we will upload a new build. The price of the app version is £19.99 and the book is £21.95 - so it is in fact cheaper but only a bit - the book price does date back 10 years when our pricing was different. Regarding Kalymnos - our grades are based on UKClimbing logbook feedback and our own experience. We don't copy the grades from other guidebooks. Kalymnos has been notorious over the years for having some bizarre grading so I expect that these inconsistencies between different sources will continue but hopefully we will all eventually zoom in on some more reliable grades.

Tons of Info - Expertly Presented

An incredible app with a wealth of information. Despite so much info, everything is displayed cleverly so that it doesn’t feel cluttered. Very impressed.
Yes the cost of the different areas can add up, but the slickness of the app and the data within makes it totally worth it.
