Great addition to guide books

Not knowing what guide books to buy Rockfax seemed like a good stepping stone. The ability to download guides is a massive bonus and extremely helpfull when half way up and need some guidence. The UI could do with some improvements. UKC integration is a bit odd/confusing. Log book displays route guide description rather than your personal log, which is hidden behind the Tick icon which isn’t obvious. Personal notes should be displayed in the rout guide as well for way viewing when finding routes. Basically Fixing obvious UI/UX issues would get a 5stars.

Great app but with plenty of room for improvement

I love using this app for its clear topos and ukc linking ability. I like the fact that I was able to trade in my previous purchases to use as credit for the subscription service.

I do wish some areas were more extensively covered and not just the ‘best of’ routes. I’d also love to have a desktop version available for Mac. I was told that it was in the works when I asked a couple of years back, however have heard nothing. The app can be hard to navigate sometimes when the ‘swipe up’ options seemingly don’t respond. I’ve also experienced completly different topo results on mine and a friends device despite both being updated at the same time.

On the whole I do love the ‘everything available’ aspect of the subscription service, but would like a little more for my £5 a month.

IOS version

I've used the Rockfax app since it started and impressed with the loyalty payment I still pay. Not many companies keep the price the same for those that joined early. The app is impressive. I've used all over the UK and abroad. The topos are clear and at the usual Rockfax standard. Parking and map detail is great too. If logging a climb is important with you the ability to do that is easy. Guess only issue is adoption of this sort of system. I wouldn't normally carry my phone on a climb. So this works brilliantly for me on single pitch climbs. I still take photos of multi pitch route descriptions with a proper camera as that is nearly always with me. But that's a personal opinion.
