Great except for the crashes
This app has worked very well for me in tracking my runs. However, my only quibble would be in the crashes. If my phone is locked while tracking me, and I open the lock screen camera to take a photo, then lock my phone again and keep running, the app will have crashed by the next time I unlock. This means that it will show that the distance between the crash and reopening it is shown as a straight line in zero time.
Also, if you pause the run, e.g. to take a ferry across a river, the app with treat the distance as distance in zero time (which affects the total distance and speed), rather than a jump, so the distance doesn't count towards the total.
To start with, why does the location have to be on all the time? We are told that location settings running in the background kill the battery quicker than not being on. When I do go to set off on a run I have to go in to my settings and turn on the location for mapmyrun and then…not turn the screen off.
BUT WAIT!!!!! I have downloaded mapmyRUN, so imagine my complete surprise when instead of erm, mapping my run it was mapping push ups! PUSH UPS?! how did that even get in the app in the first place? Not only that but when i changed the type of exercise to a run the calories burned didn’t change. So if you are fit enough to test it out, do 30 minutes of push ups and a 30 minute run to really test the amount of kcal burned.
I shall keep looking for a GPS run mapper i think.
This is a very good app, the best of its kind I feel, please get rid of that voice that comes on every 10 minutes its really annoying after an hour of being told your time, or at least be able to turn it off.
That said though, it is very stable and works well especially when using the map while running a new route, what is really good is you can log in online and send your workouts to your phone to save messing around on a small screen.
Ive never set it up properly as i have a Garmin but the times ive used this it has worked really well and has been very accurate.
