Can't make payments
When the new version came out I didn't find the layout of transactions as clear as the old version. And it took me a little time to work out how to make a payment. However, the layout has grown on me and I'm sure I will get used to it soon. The central issue though, is that the app is now rendered useless as I am unable to make a payment from it. This has continued for a week now. Each time I press continue it throws me out to my home screen and logs me out. I have had to make payments by visiting my local branch and going to the website on laptop. I've deleted and reinstalled the app to no avail. This issue needs to get sorted as I'm sure I'm not the only one and using the app used to make life quicker and easier, but this version doesn't!! I've been a customer for 27 years and have seen some changes but this version of the app really does take the biscuit. Staff in the branch said that Santander really listens to its customers so I'm hopeful...
Update: it's a week later and so still can't make payments using the app. What is going on??
Update: it turned out my issue was due to having an older phone. I phoned Santander who explained this and assured me they were working on the app to resolve this issue. This was resolved about a week later and now I'm enjoying the app once more.

Apologies that you were unable to make payments using the app. This issue is resolved on our latest version 4.1.0 so please update if you've not done so already. We hope you enjoy using Santander Mobile Banking.
New app update is worst in every way apart from its appearance and Touch ID (which Santander was last to use out of the 5 mobile banking apps I have at least).
Information given regarding transactions is dire (it was barely acceptable before). Especially when it comes to direct debits to your credit cards, only way to match is to switch between account views and find the amounts, just says payment received (not DD/FP - as did previously).
Also, the second you navigate away from the banking app screen it logs you off?? Barclays does this also and its infuriating, can’t even be smart and use the calculator or switch between banking apps (yes Santander whether you like it or not I do use other banks, banks with better apps than you) on our smart phone in today’s technological smart world, mid app use, HAL/LLOY/TSB all give a settings option to remain online for chosen period of time.
General information access on accounts more info has been reduced radically, why we’re being given less now I don’t know. Update soon Santander. Pretty sure all long term users would agree with the above.
Simply a poor application compared to other banking apps.
I have just opened a Santander account and stated to use this application for my Santander banking needs online. I also bank with the Halifax online using there application. I thought the experience would be the same. It isn’t! My big big bear right now is that pending transactions on this application apparently don’t exist. I paid 3 phone bills yesterday for family members and I have no pending transactions listed. Nor are they listed in the transaction section. (Which is very basic I may add). So the pending amounts which have gone out aren’t in either of the transaction section nor the pending transaction section. The money has been detected as being removed via the balance amount because I can do basic math. But I have no idea when or if it will appear in the transaction section. I rang the bank. After 2 transfers of being held, I am told “Pending transactions only work on the application for credit cards” which is frankly insane. What I expect from this application and what you get are two very different things. Other problems are, I have a message notification on the app I can’t read. You can’t use fingerprint identification. It looks like an app which isn’t receiving funding to bring the infrastructure behind it in line with other modern banking applications. Just don’t expect to know where you money is or where it’s gone with this bank. Poor, very poor.

Thanks for the feedback it helps us improve the app. We added touch ID to our new app in February 2018. Pending transactions is something we are currently working on to deliver in a future release.
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
