Save2PDF 4+

This company produces some of the most innovative and useful productivity apps in the App Store. And this one is no exception. Whilst most items carry a modest to moderate price tag, it's a totally insignificant investment for the product & service you get from EuroSmartz.

I have been endlessly impressed how my requests for help or knowledge even in the middle of the night - yes, I too wake up and do some work during sleeping hours, but it would appear I cannot match the excellent 24/7 service.

As for the App (and others by EuroSmartz) they are great but occasionally you will come across a rather odd way to do something. However, let me tell you this, it's worth the little learning curve that goes with finding your way about in EuroSmartz's excellent Apps. Save2PDF lets me do as much if not more than my big ticket desktop Adobe Acrobat. In my other life, I often need to create 'bound documents' or a whole collection of papers and information to create a file for third party use, and Save2PDF really helps make that process easy. It's a buy.

As some others have commented, there are these occasionally encountered odd or counterintuitive ways to achieve some tasks. It's not clear to me after several years of using EuroSmartz products whether this is due to the way iOS is designed. Perhaps it's one of the limitations Apple imposes on developers, that can make it hard to build certain functionality, especially if it's a use case that Apple did not contemplate. A simple example is if you wanted to build an app that displays a realtime clock in the corner of your screen with animated second hand as Apple do. No. They won't let you even though that functionality is there. So next time you wonder about some functionality why not suggest it or feed it back to EuroSmartz and I'm sure they'll give you a quick answer. You never know, they may even build in your idea.

In the support section at EuroSmartz, Jennifer, Andrea & their colleagues are wizards of the night (and day). This is a good company to support.

Great little app. There are so many apps that allow viewing and annotation of PDF, this file format gets the most out of the iPad. You can annotate and draw on PDF files using Goodreader, iAnnotatePDF and many others. But of course, you need the files to be in PDF format in the first place and if you are on the road and have a Word file that you want to take to a meeting and scribble on, you need to convert it to PDF. This app does the trick, and bundles a nice little print capability as well. You can print to many wireless printers, not just those that support Apple's proprietary print.

I work a lot with PDFs , reading/annotating journal articles and the like, and needed an app that would turn all kinds of files into PDFs. As far as I can tell (I haven't been using it that long), this app does the job very well, even though I think file management and some other features are not particularly intuitive and can at times be a little cumbersome (hence only four stars - but perhaps this is a matter of getting used to it).

I had trouble working out how to send the PDFs to other apps on my iPad without having to use internet-based services like Dropbox or email, for example. But when I complained - initially because a little 'rate this application' window popped up and would not go away -, one of the customer service people (by the name of Whitney - thanks, Whitney!) emailed me within an hour or so to explain. That level of service had me convinced! (And for those who have the same problem I had: check the document in the folder, then tap the 'Actions' button in the middle of the menu bar at the bottom (next to the 'delete' button) and choose option 'Open with App…'. Also offers GoodReader in the list, which some other apps don't do when I go via 'Open in…'.)
