Segments by Wahoo Fitness allows you to ride Strava segments indoors on your KICKR Power Trainer!
A Segment is Strava's term for a specific section of a road, climb or trail. You can create segments from your rides at Strava.com
This app is a fun and effective way to go head to head against the King or Queen of the Mountain, your friends, or simply compete against your own personal record. Whether it is your favourite neighbourhood dash or a classic alpine ascent on the other side of the world, Segments and KICKR bring the full Strava experience into your home.

Doesn't do half of what you'd expect of hope
Sadly, the most frustrating and disappointing thing about this app (aside from the extortionate price tag) is its limited potential. With the incredible hardware supplied by wahoo and the might of strava, you would imagine the app would be incredible. It isn't. My problem isn't with the simulation, this is surprisingly realistic. My problem is with the usability and syncing of data. Firstly, 'finding' segments is difficult and frustrating. A simple additional filter to define the length of segments would help - particularly if you just want to cover a half hour ride for instance. Once you have found something suitable to ride, slog your guts out, finish and save it, it won't sync your simulated elevation data with strava. Which is kinda the point (?!). It simply pulls through the distance and time it took you. A representation of the route you rode would be nice too - the app shows you where you're riding as you ride it, so why not pull this through as part of the sync? I understand different open source apps may struggle with API integration, but these companies have collaborated and let's not forget, all in, this is close to £1000 with the Kickr and app. Bring improvements, and bring them quickly.
As said a few times in other people's comments it is just too hard compared to real life segments. I tried on a segment that I have a KOM on & with this app I cannot even get into the top 10 even though it's only a 40sec segment. My real life speed was 27mph but using the app I can manage only 20mph. It's brutal. Could be great if Wahoo tweaks things to be smoother & not stop/start with the Kickr resistance. Please update asap as I do love the app idea.
Just not realistic enough
This is a great idea but sadly it currently doesn't work well enough to make it worthwhile.
The gradient on a ride changes instantly from say -1% to +10%, and the resistance on the kickr increases so quickly that it become almost impossible to change gears to allow you to continue cycling.
