Customer Reviews

Absolutely useless

Thought it would be convenient to read issues of Sight & Sound anywhere as a subscriber, however the login system is shockingly broken.

I thought I had input my details in wrong at first, so contacted the tech support the app recommended. From what they suggested via email, my membership number was the same as my subscriber number on the address paper, which was what I had assumed before along with the password for my S&S online login.

Although I am thankful for their fast response, the problem somehow still persists. A shame really.

Why haven't they updated this in years, beyond an icon change?? It's trash. The magazine is just a PDF, and that's fine, but why package it in the very worst PDF reader that was ever made?? If you're a subscriber, do as I do - download as a PDF from the website, put it in Dropbox and read it on a useful interface via any of the great free iOS PDF readers. Many sight and sound readers will find this complicated and shouldnt have to learn how to do this just to read something they pay for. BFI should sack whoever it uses for its apps, they're all dreadful

I rarely write reviews but am compelled to do so by this app. There are so many bugs and design flaws that I can only think that the BFI have chosen this 'solution provider' based on wanting to push people towards the print edition and saving as much money as humanely possible. Example: if you are reading in portrait and then go to landscape you are presented with a different page. Uh? Go back and it isn't the page you just left. What? Dear BFI, using this does nothing but damage your reputation.
