GPS will not work accurately indoors.
Ski Tracks will automatically store your ski workout in Health once enabled in Ski Tracks settings. Health data includes energy, distance, descents and other ski metrics which is viewable in the Health app.
This app may use your location even when it isn’t open, which can decrease device battery life.

Great app, but I wish ...
Great little app. Seems to work, accurate as far as I can tell, has proved remarkably accurate on the occasions I’ve been able to check it, lots of interesting data, great interface. However, I wish I could install it on my iPad too: I’d like to be able to look at my ski data on a bigger screen. Or maybe the developers could create a web interface to allow us to look at the ski data in the same way as on the iPhone app. It is possible to back up and export some data, but it’s not as good as what you can look at via the iPhone interface.
As well as ski tracks and bike tracks, I also wish you did a “walk tracks”. Like ski tracks, but for walking. A competitor to Track Me and Google Maps Timeline. Do it and I’d buy it in an instant.
Great ski app I’ve used for years now
Started skiing about 10 years ago and used this app for most of those. It’s great to be able to look at past seasons and compare.
The watch app works well too, although I’ve just upgraded from a series 2 to a series 8 watch and the Lock Screen button doesn’t seem to be working in the app anymore. Hopefully a bug fix in a release soon.
Used every year since 2012. LOVE it but...
I love this app and have used it since 2012 all over the world. It’s more than just a tracking app to me, it’s become a diary of my development.
When I get frustrated with my skiing I can look back at a tangible and I’m depth record of how far I’ve come.
I wish I’d made more use of the photo aspect of the application, as when I have I’ve been able to link memories of runs and days with friends to data of how we skied that day.
This season I have an Apple Watch and I’m loving using the app on that, BUT I can’t work out how to stop the app changing the main screen of my watch to a read out of the previous run everytime I finish a run. This is OK, but I prefer to look at my tracks at the end of the day. I’d like to use my watch as a watch during the day with an option to look at the ski tracks read out. It’s a pain to change to the watch face every single time because I’m invariably on a lift in ski gloves trying to change it back to my watch face. If this can be resolved the app would be perfect.
