An Evernote account is required to save to Evernote. All other capturing, mark up and saving and sharing functions are free and do not require an Evernote account.

Best Annotation App Ever
It is super simple to use. Anyone (young, old, technophobe) can pick it up within a few mins. There are powerful photo editors than can have more control over annotation but Skitch gets 95% of the results with 5% of the effort. I wished they contiune this product or some over developers copy it. It was available on Windows so everyone in our office was using it but they seemed to have shut down support for it! Please keep developing this software and stop trying to pull us into Evernote! I would happily pay £15/20 per user for everyone in the office and upgrade it every 2-3 years if they find ways to make it more simple and more beautiful.
Simple and easy to use with great annotation.
I downloaded Skitch on the recommendation of a colleague who’s a developer. It’s quick and easy to use with a shortcut command and the annotation is great. Minor downsides: you can only capture one screenshot at a time (as far as I know) and you can’t seem to turn off the prompts to sign into Evernote. Then again, those reminders probably help to keep the app free and ad-free. Would recommend to any Mac owner.
Completely broken in High Sierra
One of my most used applications now no longer works as it is supposed to. When dragging image files it will frequently crash, requiring a force quit to start again. Frequently when dragging from the image tab it will drop the previous image, requiring to drop out into menu, wait for a sync then re-open the most recent image. Has completely broken the tool and have started using CloudApp instead. I bought evernote premium specifically for this tool! Incredibly frustrating.
