Sky+ app is the best way to discover and manage all of your Sky TV and movies. You can connect directly to your Sky+HD box in-home to browse all of our content, set downloads and recordings and manage your planner. You can also set downloads, recordings and series links when you’re out and about so you never miss a thing.
To use the enhanced features you will need a compatible Sky+HD box and have your device and Sky+HD box connected to the same broadband network either with a wired or wireless connection. Please see the Help section of the app for more details.
In order to Record and Download programmes to your Sky+HD box you will need to register your Sky iD with the service at sky.com/remoterecord and simply follow the instructions.
Smart Series Link and photo viewing are only available to customers with a compatible Sky+HD box.
All recordings are FREE, however mobile network and/or Wi-Fi charges may apply.

If you are having problems connecting your app to your Sky+HD box, please make sure that your Sky+HD box and iPhone/iPad are on the same WiFi network. If you have a dual band router, the Sky box and your device must be on the same WiFi band. Programmed a series on the box and it can't be deleted
Programmed a series link of a program the other day, the next day I went to planner on the box to watch episode 1, and it had recorded 4 episodes it said ?, and had the pile of cards icon to show more than one program episodes recorded this is amazing as it was episode 1, I pressed select to access the 4 impossible episodes it says recorded but it never opens up. I pressed yellow to delete watched episodes nothing, pressed yellow to delete whole series nothing, so now unable to delete the 4 phantom episodes to free up the drive space and it will never delete them.
This has happened before 2 years ago and 2 years later that series is still taking up space on the drive.
Ok - annoying at times.
I've had the app on my phone and iPad for a number of years. The biggest issue I have is that you can only use it when you are on the same wifi network (therefore in the house). It's no good if you remember whilst out that you need to record something.
The other issue is when your sat infront of the box - try to connect and it can't find the box. Therefore having to reboot the sky+ box.
All in all I don't find much use for it other than to adjust/fix clashes.
Loses connection with the box all the time
Don't know what has happened to this app of late it just loses connection with my skybox all the time and won't reconnect even though the sky box is connected to the wireless network in our house have to download the app again and start from scratch and then it will probably only last a couple of days to lose the connection again tried all the suggestions on the help to sort it none of them work - overall it's pretty useless - come on sky sort it out
