What's New in Version 2.8.2
Sky News now in the skies!
The fact that Sky News viewers are not being listened to, says a lot about Sky. The Sky News app has gone bad. Developers, wake up, if your adverts are annoying people, they're certainly not going to purchase anything from watching them. You need to fix the app. The advert repeats itself and plays in the background after the news video has finished, to even kicking you out of the app altogether. I used to like this app and use to look forward to getting my daily news updates. Oh and taking off the videos on older operating systems is 'Bull'.... Got absolutely nothing to do with a software update. Have you not heard of different versions. In the end, I stopped looking at the videos because of the stupid adverts anyway. How are you going to make money when people are not looking at the videos anymore to even deleting their app's altogether. I go the page on my iPhone to where my Sky News app once was and all I see is an empty space. I only put the app back on my phone in order to write this very poor review!
This App is "COSTING" me money !!!!!!
That's it I have truly had it up to the back teeth with this absurd App that has been produced by SKY a supposedly responsible major brand.
Despite all the complaints about the bombardment of ADVERTS Sky have not listened to its customers concerns. I have written to some of the advert sponsors and they have had the decency to apologise on behalf of sky !!!
I have hoped that every time an update to the app came out that the adverts would have gone. Suppose it's a bit to much to ask from such a greedy corporate outfit.
Unfortunately these 30 second adverts are physically COSTING me cash. Every time I try to view a news video I get charged on my data allowance the data cost of the advert. Oh yes and I also get charged after the news article. The app is so POORLY produced that the Advert will replay at the end of the news article, and in the background, requiring the app to be closed down to stop the audio from playing. This again comes out of my data allowance I say yet Again SKY, if you are going to produce an app make sure it works!!!!!!! And also listen to your customers who are sick of the adds.
I have a good mind to Bill sky for the data charges that I have incurred because of the constant adverts.
If you are thinking of downloading this application then DON'T as the Adverts will COST you through the network data charges. 😡😡😡😡😡
Are we EVER going to get an update???
Since I got the iPhone 6, the app continuously crashes. You can tell by looking at the top of the screen where network and battery info is that the app hasn't been adjusted to work for a bigger screen. I'm waiting for an update to stop the crashes but so far, none.
Also I agree with everyone else regarding the ads. Not only does it force you to watch a minute long advert in order to view a 20 second news clip, the banners at the bottom are placed in a way that if you scroll or tap on a news story, it mysteriously somehow gets in the way and takes you away to a place you never wanted to be. I'm careful not to touch the ad but somehow it gets involved.
I like the interface of the app, which is why I've kept it throughout (I just don't watch the videos ever now) but if another news app appeared with a similar interface, then I'll be all over it and say sayonara to Sky News.
