Sky+ app is the best way to discover and manage all of your Sky TV and movies. You can connect directly to your Sky+HD box in-home to browse all of our content, set downloads and recordings and manage your planner. You can also set downloads, recordings and series links when you’re out and about so you never miss a thing.
To use the enhanced features you will need a compatible Sky+HD box and have your device and Sky+HD box connected to the same broadband network either with a wired or wireless connection. Please see the Help section of the app for more details.
In order to Record and Download programmes to your Sky+HD box you will need to register your Sky iD with the service at sky.com/remoterecord and simply follow the instructions.
Smart Series Link and photo viewing are only available to customers with a compatible Sky+HD box.
All recordings are FREE, however mobile network and/or Wi-Fi charges may apply.

If you are having problems connecting your app to your Sky+HD box, please make sure that your Sky+HD box and iPhone/iPad are on the same WiFi network. What's New in Version 5.5.1
Fix for issue with planner voice over functionality on iOS 10.3 and above.
I use this app for all my Sky+ programming and overall it is pretty decent. I usually switch between the planner, TV guide and search pages, and it would be really useful to have a back button to go back to the last page, rather than having to go back to the home page every time. Another niggle is that every time I start the app it has to re-connect with the box, even when it is on (rather than in standby) and was only accessed a minute ago. Finally, I wish that Sky+ was more intelligent about stacking a series when it comprises a mixture of live-recorded and catchup material.
Still unstable system
The app is functional so long as it has a connection with the sky box. However connection issues between the Sky box and the network remain a serious issue. My network is stable and the dongle indicates it is connected but the box itself can be stubbornly reluctant to make contact. This results in the main uses for the app being essentially impossible to use. Sky need to do a lot more work to resolve this. Probably a firmware issue in the main box is ruining an otherwise good system. This needs serious work by Sky to resolve.
Usually a full reset of the Sky system (turn power to everything off, wait 20 seconds then power back up) will reconnect but this is hardly satisfactory.
App now obselete!
I love this app normally! It's handy to record things when you're away from your tv and don't want to forget to do it when you get home... not any more. Now when I'm out of range of my sky box it stops talking to it! Whenever I'm at my mums it syncs up to hers and I've recorded things on her one by accident. The whole point of remote recording is to record remotely, now I might as well just record it on the box! The app is now obselete!
Suggestion: when recorded programmes are going to clash it would be useful if the app alerted you to the clash by texting/red flag etc. I only know if I happen to go into the app if I have clashes. This has meant I've lost some recordings. A quick alert to would be appreciated!
