Open the Mac App Store to buy and download apps.
1) Download the latest version from the website. That version includes a fix for the D800/D800E issue and support for D600 and D5200.
2) The D3100 and D3200 cameras lack features needed for Sofortbild support. Sorry about that!
Sofortbild is a native Mac OS X application for tethered shooting.
The software allows you to control any Nikon D4, D3S, D3X, D3, D800, D800E, D700, D300S, D300, D200, D7000, D90, D80, D60, D40X, D40, D5100 and D5000 remotely from your Mac via USB or through wired or wireless LAN using a wireless transmitter (on selected models).
Sofortbild transfers all captured images instantly to your hard disk for review in full resolution and quality and further image processing.
What's New in Version 1.2.5
- Added D4, D800 and D800E support
Tethering for D600 on my Mac
I often have trouble with sharp focus on my shots. Yes I need to go to SpecSavers, but quite why Nikon don't offer their own software with every camera stumps me. This version works every time on my D600 and my MBP 17" with 10.8.5 and costs nothing.
Already my shots are sharp, so fantastic. I should be able to figure out why my AF shots are so crap hopefully.

Thank you Stefan Hafeneger
Fantastic app. Works perfectly with my Nikon D40X and Macbook Air. Hooked it all up for use as a photo booth at my wedding and the photos are amazing! Thank you! Also, the black line that Eye-On-U mentions below doesn't appear in the photo file that's saved, or on print outs of the images. So it's all good!
Incredible for a free app
Considering that this is a free app, it does everyone that I need it for and more. It recognised my camera as soon as I connected it through USB and shots appeared on the screen a few seconds after they were taken. Remote capture works really well too, thanks!
