Disappointed
I’ve been playing Song Pop for years. Occasionally I’ve missed days between playing and you lost rewards for this. I’d been building it up again, was on my 6th month and about to gain my maximum mastery reward streak when it asked me if I wanted to go VIP. I said, no. Then, without warning it took all my mastery reward streaks away and sent me right back to the beginning again!! I was raging!! A month later, the same thing has happened whilst going for my first mastery reward streak. Song Pop, I am not paying to play and gain rewards. I do not want to be VIP!! You’ve never done this until recently. It’s a money making scam. Don’t fall for it folks!!
6 years and more down the drain
I originally purchased SongPop (first edition!) many years ago to get rid of adverts from playing the free edition which had ads. Loved it, played it daily. Along came song pop 2 as a free upgrade. I was suspicious at first that it was a way of getting us players to eventually have to buy it again. Unfortunately my suspicions weren’t right, it was worse. They brought out a subscription service but with it a carrot to dangle in front of us, twice a month we could get rewarded for our loyalty by means of playing free for 24 hours after 14 days consecutive play then, if you hadn’t missed a further 14 days you could get 529 whole blissful days of ad free play. This was tedious but I played on. Today (16th December 2018) they’ve updated it again. Instead of getting two days of ad free play you know get 30 minutes! Let’s put this into perspective I pay £8 a month for my sim only contract, for that I get 200 minutes, unlimited texts and 500m data and songpop want me to pay £4 all but a penny for a game monthly. It's just not going to happen. I paid for ad free Song Pop years ago and feel I should still have that game now...and NO If I play the original songpop it doesn’t work ad free it doesn’t work at all now but before IOS 12 it worked but with ads even though it shouldn’t have had them after I ‘upgraded’ to Songpop 2
Overall fun with minor problem
Very fun game but getting a bit limited on songs now I’ve got quite a few playlists. I really enjoy the party feature because of the extra opponents and songs.
Daily bonus is a great idea but doesn’t always work. I’ve set it to notify me but it does so at 8am everyday and you can’t change that. If I can’t play until later it doesn’t always give me my daily bonus; for example, I played around 2pm and it didn’t give me my bonus then at 10 or 11pm it notified me saying my daily bonus would expire soon so I opened that notification after a few mins and it still didn’t work. The following day it gave me the chance to revive it, but for that bonus and the current day’s bonus it didn’t give me them and said there was a server error and something about an ‘INVALID_STATE’. Would be good if this problem could be solved. Other than that I really enjoy the daily bonus as it gives you free goes in the party and VIP access for 15/30mins which is great, along with coins and tickets.
