Intuitive and original

Just got started with this app and am impressed. It's not another developer producing a keyboard emulation, this is an original well thought out app which uses the iPad in a truly original way. The free version is restricted but useful tool for creating chord sequences 'on the fly'. It works for both beginners and advanced alike. Yes you can argue that it means you don't have to be a musician, but anything that allows an idea to take shape as quickly as you can think of a tune has got to be good and to me a musician and a virtuoso player are not mutually exclusive. I can and do play real instruments both live and in recordings, but this will speed up getting ideas down to audio. Negatives are that it has limited sounds in the basic format, although the organ is extremely usable. The downloadable sounds are fair but have too few usable sounds to make them great value at the moment. The record and email option I need to get my head around, why not straight forward Wave file by WiFi, as with the fantastic Nanostudio. Oh and AudioCopy/Paste to other supported apps should be standard with ALL music apps. Finally, the web site and support are first class and one of the best I have seen. Want to try the Pro version to control my VSTs on my pc setup.

Love it

This is a very smart bit of kit for free. Well produced sounds in an easy to use GUI. I've had no end of use from this and is a great help when producing music. It is reminiscent to an instrument I played with as a kid called an Autoharp, in that it only plays perfect chords. This is cool if you can't play music or want to learn chord structures. I have had the free version since it's first release and the free pack of extra sounds was cool in the update.

I think this app is great but could benefit by adding a way to adjust the FX volume yourself (much like a bus on a mixing desk). Even if the fx were fixed to the sound and not editable, it would help the more serious producers out there to get the best out of this awesome instrument. As such I am giving it 4 stars. Only because I think there is room for improvement in controlling the audio fx in some way instead of changing their volume amount every update. That way everyone's a winner.

Peace 'n' have fun...... I did ... : )

Great app for having fun

Some other reviews chastise it for it's lack of recording ability, but I think that as it is, the app is amazing. The time I have whilst playing it with my friends is really great. The debs have said that they will add recording, and other features. And all of this implemented with a beautiful, highly original interface.

Ignore the 1 star reviews. Those are normally saved up for when an app crashes on launch or something, and i can assure you that I have not noticed any bugs with this app and it has never crashed on me.

Oh, and btw, its not meant for composing music, it's meant for having fun and playing it (like a real instrument).
