South Park: Phone Destroyer‪™‬ 17+

The game was pretty fun to begin with, I became pretty competitive at it occasionally dipping in to the top 100 players in the game tecentlyq, I spent a fair amount of money on it too and invested a lot of time (grinding) and was gradually climbing the ladder of success. Then today happened... The developers “rebalanced” every card in the game. I’m not talking fine tuning to sort out a few minor problems, they detonated a nuke! The entire player base is in uproar, everything they’ve worked for and spent time and money on in the last year has been made worthless. I’m still in disbelief that anyone would do this, the developers need sacking, they’ve actually tarnished the South Park brand with their gross incompetence. Play at your own risk, they’ve done things like this on a smaller scale before, but appear to be getting worse at what they do bad, despite excellent feedback from the player base.

This game was fun for a week or two, but now it’s like banging your head against a brick wall.
The PVP matchmaker is a joke, constantly matched with players 3 or 4 levels higher than you with cards that just walk through your team. Even against similarly levelled players, there seems strange occasions where they can play 15-20 energy worth of cards an you have barely played your 10. Another new feature of the matchmaker is that you lose rating for a win...this is pretty dumb and stops you climbing the pvp ladder even if you’re successful.
The bugs really ruin it though; opponent cards coming back to life and jumping all over the battlefield because of lag and poor connection - incidentally an issue none of my other online games have over the same connection.
To top it all off, if you want to complain or report an issue/player, the customer service is terrible. Standard response is ‘sorry, we’ll look into that/pass your feedback on’ but nothing seems to change.
All in all, a fun game for a little bit if you like South Park, but don’t waste your money or expect to enjoy this for long as it will just annoy you.

The story of the game is fun to play through and features signature South Park comedy. However, it doesn’t really understand difficulty curves and instead jumps suddenly, most likely to push the player to buy better cards.

The PVP mode is pretty much unplayable. Most event cards are pretty much impossible to get unless you pay for them due to the game regularly putting you against higher level players the better you do in an event. These event cards are overpowered. As are late game themed cards. The whole point of choosing your theme is irrelevant when the next theme is objectively stronger than the previous one. This once again gives a severe advantage to those paying for the cards.

As a whole the game has fun mechanics but it is ruined by the pay to win features and non existent card balancing. This is ironic given they update the game regularly with updates buffing and nerfing cards which are often so minimal that they don’t impact the gameplay enough to change the fact that buying overpowered cards gives you easy wins.
