Seriously budget app
Most functionality takes you out of the app and onto safari - items such as delay repay. The fact you can’t do all you need to do in the app is so inefficient. Also, when you are trying to look at stopping points or check where a train is, 80% of the time it will state that “we are having technical difficulties and can’t show that information, please try again later” - such a basic requirement for a railway app but not delivered. Finally the route planning function is just not serviceable. It can’t seem to work a route out without adding a completely unnecessary walking element in. I just want to know from station to station but it insists on telling me about where to walk etc - so frustrating.
Started quite well but just gets worse and worse to the point of being useless. You used to be able to go to a saved list of routes in ‘live times’ but instead of seeing station names you just get what looks like an elongated light bulb or a circle. This whole network has gone downhill since it stopped being South West Trains, so the fact the app has as well, should be no surprise.
Importance of Communication
Whilst it may be a complex job running SWR, their is absolutely NO excuse for not communicating effectively with your customers.
The current long-standing dispute with your guards and the RMT is a case in point. As an annual season ticket holder I am amazed that you haven’t written to us to explain the dispute, the steps being taken to resolve it and (most importantly) to apologise for the very poor service and conditions you are currently providing.
You seriously risk losing the confidence of your loyal customers. Please instruct your communication team to get their act together!
