Language learning now so much more efficient
I am learning Mandarin and the course I a following makes extensive use of audio. For several weeks I was using a regular MP3 player. Being an app writer myself, I came up with the idea for an app that enabled the user to skip forwards and backwards between spoken words. But after some googling I discovered Speater and then quickly realised that my idea - and many more besides - had long been solved.
Big thanks to the app's creators; you've really helped me. The app is far better than anything I could have come up with, successfully combining both powerful functionality and ease of use.
Just one suggested area of improvement: I find the bookmarks feature to be a little awkward. But this is just a minor point overall.
Keep it up!
Good, but annoying bug...
I’ve found this invaluable for my language learning, particularly the ability of the app to identify phrases automatically in the files it is playing, so that they can be repeated really easily.
Unfortunately there is a bug in this part of the program, in that quite often after a minute or two the app stops finding the phrases and instead reverts to setting up repeating blocks of 3 seconds which don’t match the phrases. It’s an intermittent problem and normally loading another file, then switching back to the first one, results in a good analysis, but it would be a lot less irritating if it didn’t happen. Still, despite that, an app that has proved its value many times over.
This has made a great difference to how much I get out of time on audio recordings for learning Russian and Arabic, and would be great for aany laguage. Intuitive. It lets you easily make a section of audio repeat.
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
