What's New

Version 2.6.5

TEAM UPDATES: The Stick Cricket selectors have come out of retirement to implement a much-needed update to all national squads. Some huge players - Pup Clarke, Dan Vettori and Kumar Sangakkara - have been put out to pasture. One ‘huge’ player in particular, Dwayne Leverock, has been retained purely for nostalgic purposes.

We did consider adding a beard to Shane Warne, but then we realised that would look completely ridiculous.

BUG FIXES: We’ve responded to an urgent request from the unemployed Australian cricket team, who literally have nothing better to do with their time than play Stick Cricket for the next few months, to get the game compatible with iOS 11. Unlike the Aussies, the game will now continue to work!

We’ve also resolved an issue where the game would crash if you win the World Cup. The crash now only occurs if you win with an implausible team (England).

Dreadful Update (Avoid!)

Cricket lover GFC

I have never been compelled to write a review before, but the latest update has forced me into penning this opinion. Quite simply, the recent update (November 2013) to the game is nothing more than a money grabbing move by Stick Sports. This move has weakened and potentially irreversibly harmed what was once a decent game to pass the time.
The update may present itself as a welcome addition, with the promise of a new stadium and so forth. DO NOT be fooled by the jovial nature of the description, the developers are out to swindle more money.
Success in the game is now impossible without purchasing a 'bat' in the stick cricket shop, competitively priced from around £1.50 all the way up to £20+. This is, quite frankly, ludicrous.
Prior to the update, hitting 6s and 4s in match situations was easy, and indeed the whole point of the game. Now, however, it is a struggle to hit a boundary at all. The only way to rectify this is to purchase one of the aforementioned bats. Having already purchased the game, and subsequent add ones within the game, it smacks of being completely ripped off.
Overall, AVOID THIS GAME. As I said, I have never reviewed before, so hopefully this adds to the gravitas of that statement. It is baffling and also disappointing that a game developer such as Stick Sports has decided to act in this way. However, in a sad representation of the times, it is not at all surprising.

This game cheats

First of all, I will say this game is very addictive. However, as much as I have enjoyed playing, there seems to be a pattern. The pattern is if you score too highly in the first couple of overs ( I am talking specifically about the all star slog 5 over competition ), your wickets will tumble and you will get bowled dot all after dot ball, making it very difficult to beat any previous high score you have achieved. I guess the other game types in this app would be similar but I cannot say for sure. Once again, good fun but some of the fun is taken away by the inability to smash all the bowlers out of the park in the same innings - hence 3 stars only.

Great slogging fun

A superb game for iPad: colours and clarity are excellent, very simple controls for a cricket game, and a great skill balance. Just as I think I've mastered how to knock Curtly Ambrose for six, he gets me out!
Perhaps the best thing is that the game lengths are variable, with a 5 over match taking no more than 5 mins, so great for those with short attention spans, or other family members wanting to steal the iPad off you :)
At this stage, I have no suggestions for improvement - all in all well worth the money.
