I’ve been a Sun reader for years both with printed paper and more recently the app but I have a complaint, one that might seem trivial, but on more than one occasion you have ruined the enjoyment from certain TV series that I enjoy.

I don’t watch as much tv as I used to on account of having 2 young children but I set up series links and watch them when I can. This means that I’m not always up to date.

Examples of this are the apprentice, master chef, Bear Grylls the island and great British bake off.

This issue is mainly with catching up with the news on the app where I get the current news that I’m wanting but often now having tv series unnecessarily spoiled for me by thoughtless headlines! “So and so wins”, “so and so is fired”, “so and So quits” etc

This could be easily resolved with simple substitutes for example “Apprentice winner crowned” with a stock apprentice image, “The Island shock contestant exit” with accompanying stock image of Bear Grylls, “Bake off competition days goodbye to 3rd contestant” picture of a cake.

Another option is to amend the app so users can customise what news is displayed with the option to switch off things that might cause “spoilers”.

Please stop ruining my favourite tv programmes! It really reduces the enjoyment of watching it knowing who is going to win/lose beforehand.

Please let me know if my suggestion will be considered else I might have to consider switching my source of news!

Hi jaze6789,

Thank you so much for your feedback. No one likes spoilers! We will definitely take this feedback on board and ensure we're approaching the headlines more carefully.

Many thanks,
The Sun Mobile App Team

Updated and awesome

It took a while for the iPhone X to be supported but it now makes sense with a completely redesigned app, which finally puts to bed the tired and outdated format of the previous version.

The app is now fluid and fast, allowing for quick navigation and customisation to show you items you are particularly interested in.

All that's missing is the ability to sync for offline reading, like on the tube or in the air, but that doesn't stop this from being a 5 star update!

HI Dubz07,

Thanks so much for your feedback! We've been working hard on a brand new smartphone experience for the Sun, and we launched it this week! With a modern design, the new look and feel definitely takes advantage of the iPhone X screen and space. We're really excited about it, and hope you like it too! Thanks for your patience - be sure to update the app when it drops this week!

Thank you,
The Sun Mobile App Team

Good grief the world is more than reality shows and gossip

I used to love reading the Sun it was like a newspaper soap opera. A nice mix of comedy, hard hitting stories and the bizarre and wonderful world we live in. Now it’s like watching ITV, full of drivel about nonentity reality show celebrities and celebrity gossip. Today I counted 8 stories about Cheryl and Liam and no stories about the potential impact of Brexit.

If I want a comic I’ll read the Beano but the Sun is supposed to be a newspaper, the clue is in the first syllable.

As for the new update it’s even made the feel of it more like a gossip magazine. Sorry but I’ll give it a miss from now on
