SystmOnline gives you as a patient, easier access to your GP and medical data, allowing you to conveniently manage your healthcare.

Through the SystmOnline app you are able to update your contact details, book appointments, request repeat prescriptions, view your medical record and more. If you are unable to use any of these features it will be because your GP practice has not yet made them available to you.

If I had a choice I would delete it!


Unfortunately, shoddy software like this is often forced on users by organisations that have no understanding of software development or testing, and don't actually used the software themselves. I must now use this app to order my prescription, and it has been a terrible user experience since day one when the account sign up process failed and it took 3 attempts and calls to support to resolve. It annoys me that I must log on to the app every time I use it. The UI is not intuitive, it is confusing for new users to work out how to actually order a subscription. When you have placed your order it displays a message "your prescription will be ready on the date above" but displays no date. Looking at the help text it has "???" markers suggesting that it was never completed, it was certainly never reviewed during testing (if it was ever tested). Surely the NHS must have someone who understands enough about software to be able to make an informed choice about the systems they force on their patients?

Prescription request doesn’t work for me

Much as I would like to be able to use this app the repeat prescription request function doesn’t work for me - whilst I can see my medications listed when I highlight them & click ‘Request’ nothing happens. A great pity as this was my main reason for wanting to use the app, I now use the online version instead. This works better in that it does allow you to append notes to the request before sending. I’ve yet to try & make an appointment via the app as I haven’t needed one but it will be interesting to see if that functionality is lacking as well. So much for patient power!

This app is a joke!
Forget it’s a waste of time!
Order medication through this app and it’s hit and miss if will be actually ordered!
Totally unreliable, order medication with no way of checking status of requests, unable to order more the 7 days in advance, unable to attach note to request to explain early request etc. go to collect medication at pharmacy no record of prescription, so go to surgery who have no record of online request.

Appointment calendar a joke as doesn’t match with surgery records, I an appointment as the app showed my appointment two days later than surgery, so showed the app to the receptionist, who apologised and managed to squeeze me in that day.

The previous app used by the surgery ‘Patient Access’ worked faultlessly for that reason I will no longer be using this app and return to the good old paper method.

Absolutely useless waste of time!
