What's New in Version 3.6
In this version, we have further improved the Forum Home header photo to take a little less space by adding a horizontal swipe gesture to reveal the forum description.
We also improved the Tapatalk ID and Push Notifications reliability, plus many other bug fixes
Pretty poor update forced on existing users
UPDATE (28 Feb): still terrible..... Developers have ignored feedback. It's pretty impossible to use this app to eg browse sub forums. Continued epic fail. I guess I'll have to continue resorting to using a web browser instead ..... shame
NEW UPDATE: still no real improvement. Still cannot effectively use it to browse fora. Continued shame. A once great app ruined by pointless tinkering
LATEST UPDATE: still unusable. Developers have failed to listen to feedback. It's still pretty impossible to navigate forums. Oh dear.....
FURTHER UPDATE: continued epic fail. If only it could return to how it was......
UPDATE: now rated as -5 stars. The poor update has got significantly worse. It now won't even work with forums(!). Absolutely useless. Time to find a new app......
V1 was good and I used it a lot. It presented a simple, clean interface which made reading forums easy. The new version (now forced on v1 users) is poor. The interface is cluttered and not user friendly. There is no way to alter some of the default settings to better configure the interface and how it deals with forums (as in v1). Best avoided. It's increasingly annoying when app developers take an app that's great and works optimally and then choose to upgrade it for the sake of upgrading and to try and get some more money and then ruin apps.
This app is heading in the wrong direction
Rather than fixing issues like saving state properly, they've introduced the stupid feed page or whatever it is. Forums posts still have layout issues, image handling is still poor and it seems memory hungry, since it's almost always killed off when I come back to it. I only use this app because there's nothing better, rather than because it's good.
The latest update fixed a few issues, but it's still pushing forward with fundamentally flawed "features" rather than fixing issues I listed above. I really don't get where they're going with the app, every time they improve one aspect, they have to make it worse in a different way.
Bad. Same. As. Last. Updates.
Honestly don't know what to say anymore.
I really don't like this app anymore, it's UI is just messy, don't know where to begin as developers simply don't listen to users' feedback.
It used to be a pleasure to use TapaTalk (1 or so year ago). Now it's a nightmare.
I think it's trying to do too many things, if I wanted Facebook...well, I would use Facebook.
