TapSOS allows you to contact to Emergency Services without having to speak on the phone.
This could be due to a physical nature – Deaf, deafness, Hard of Hearing, or if you find yourself in a difficult situation, when you cannot, or if it is not safe to speak.
A TapSOS user creates a profile, which is stored on their smartphone. This information is required by the Emergency Call Handler, who receives this information from TapSOS through tapping a series of visual icons, designed to help the TapSOS user in a stressful situation.
Additionally, the user creates a medical profile – again, stored securely on the users device, which can help First Responders gain valuable insight quickly.
The built in GPS function will automatically locate the device, and if needed, allow the user to manually change the location for even greater accuracy.
The user will then answer a series of questions to allow the user to focus, reflect and react in a way which follows Emergency Services protocols.
TapSOS sends alerts straight to the United Kingdom’s 999 Emergency Call Handlers.

Difficult to rate
Without making an emergency call this app is difficult to rate. First impressions are that there are free apps that allow for greater customisation. I have ICE on my phone and am able to include phone numbers of people I would want contacted if I were a patient in an emergency. I cannot see this facility in TapSOS.
The app froze when I was setting up my profile and medical conditions and I had to reboot my phone. This causes me to lack confidence should I need to call an emergency service. I am hard of hearing and have already registered with the emergency services for text messaging.
I seem unable to access other reviews on the app website and that is disappointing.
The idea is a good one but I feel it needs tweaking.

Possibly, from the information you have provided, it sounds like you experienced a drop in signal while uploading profile information which has caused the phone to freeze.
The app has been approved and accredited by UK Emergency Services in its current form, but we are continually designing to improve user experience.

Doesn’t work, doesn’t register, no support
It won’t register, email support there’s no reply or acknowledgement, no online support, online chat there’s no one there. Despite registering it says won’t accept passwords less than five characters mine had 7. How do I get a refund?
