The TestFlight app allows testers to install and beta-test apps on iOS, tvOS and watchOS devices. Testers must first receive an invitation directly from a developer before they can begin testing with TestFlight. Once invited, testers can redeem invitations in TestFlight to install, test, send valuable feedback and get updates for the beta app.
*Note: TestFlight itself does not allow for discovery of beta apps.
To start testing:
• All the app developer needs is your email address to send you an invitation
• You accept the invitation either in the TestFlight iOS app or with a redemption code found via a link in the beta invitation
• Once accepted, you can install the pre-release build
• The TestFlight app will notify you when new builds are available
• To update to the latest build, simply tap Update
Developers can invite TestFlight Beta Testers on the App Store Connect website:
• Create a version of your app and upload new builds
• Choose which pre-release version of your app you wish to release to testers
• Invite new testers by simply providing their email addresses

Trial and Error
When at home or connected to wifi I use test flight to open Hive. The response is not immediate but this may be the fault of my ageing IPad which runs on 10.3.3. Simple actions work well. However, when I tried to add a plug to my dashboard the plug was not recognised in spite of appearing on the chart layout and being operational from there.
I have linked Hive to my Google Home Mini. I like the ability to request Google to turn the lights on. Since first linking the Hive account I have purchased additional plugs but I cannot persuade Google to recognise these. Should I link TestFlight to Google?
Does exactly what it says on the tin, and a lot more!
This was simple to use, easy to set up, has lots of straightforward configuration options, and tells you exactly what's wrong with an app (like needing to renew it) and how to fix it with one button-press. The only complaint I can think of is these review prompts for an official Apple app. Pages and Numbers don't do this, so why should TestFlight be any different? But thank you for another high-quality free app on the App Store.
Great to have the possibility to contribute to new versions of apps
I have been a contributor to TestFlight for years. I am not sure at what point the old reviews got erased, but it seems that everything is starting again from scratch. So, as a new review: “it is great that so many developers continue to develop for this platform, and I am very happy to continue to help them to bring to the market the best app that they can”.
