The Bug Butcher is an intense action shooter, wrapped in stylistic 2D art, and smeared with humor where timing and fierce reflexes are paramount!
The gameplay has an extremely simple core mechanic that is easy to understand, but hard to master. Plus, who doesn’t love a universe where you wield a beefy arsenal of military grade weaponry.
The core mechanics hold old ties from the classic arcade shooter “Super Pang” where you shoot vertically, but with modern day twists. You are Harry, a brash and tenacious exterminator who has a knack for decimating bugs.
Harry’s current assignment takes him to the infested futuristic research facility on planet Zoit. The surviving and dwindling number of scientists employed him for his slaughtering skills. Harry’s mission: survive until the decontamination of the building is complete, hoard coins like his life depended on it, and protect the scientists at all costs. Watch out for the spiders as they have a particular fondness for rubber encased scientists. After landing, you will move from room to room through the facility blasting rockets, lasers, and wielding the power of lighting upwards at anything not human.

Get your bug guts here! This snarky sci-fi shooter pits you against waves of alien creepy-crawlies. Clearing out the game’s infested space base takes sharp reflexes—though simple controls and an awesome arsenal of bug zappers are at your disposal (our favourite is the beam gun). We love the ways a variety of enemies and mission types keep the action fresh.

Love the game, keep you coming back for more.
Touch controls are fine once you get into the flow but difficult could be rebalanced in later stages to compensate.
Brilliant game just so glitchy on new Apple TV 4K
Love this game so much. So enjoyable to just run around shooting stuff.
The iPhone version and iPad version are excellent work seamlessly.
I downloaded this onto Apple TV 4K and have constant glitches that cause a freeze when I upgrade any weapons. Meaning I have to close the app and reopen after every weapon change. This is really frustrating and should really be looked into. It’s not my Apple TV or my app as I have the paid for version and have downloaded this and installed it three times. I also don’t have any freeze issues with other games downloaded.
All in all on iPhone and iPad brilliant and everyone should give it a go. Apple TV people forget it until it’s updated.
Also the paid version only have a few levels, there really needs to be some added to this. Bit short on gaming experience for the app price.
