Needs updating

Love the concept of the game and the visuals, however definitely needs some updating. For one, multiple times I’ve seen hero’s shoot through objects like rock and mountains. Like, really? And, like other people have said the hero’s require way to much control to be able to play the game effectively. I had to launch the tutorial 5 times in order to complete it, as if you pressed the hero icon to move it, before the you pressed next on the tutorial message the hero would just stay where it was and the button couldn’t be pressed again, so you were essentially stuck there until you completely reopened the app. Further more, again, like others discussed, the tutorial needs to be more helpful, you get put in a game without any knowledge of the objectives or what to do. And finally the set up of the map is way to difficult and in accurate, like why can’t you make the map smaller so that it would fit on whatever surface you were playing on, instead of going over the edge.
Overall I see massive potential for the game.

Hi. Thanks for your feedback - it is really appreciated.
There are definitely some aspects of the game that we are looking to improve and polish. Also, we are refining the on boarding experience, revising some parts and mechanics of the tutorial to make it clearer for new players.
With regards to the set up of the map, we have made some changes in version 1.1.0, allowing ARKit to detect surfaces also through "features points". While this shouldn't affect tracking much, it will make detection and alignment easier under any lighting and surface condition. We are also evaluation the possibility to allow players to revise the size of the map and its rotation. Many in the community have provided similar feedback and we are keen on testing it. We just want multiplayer to be as fair as possible and that's why we have been keeping the map size standard until now.
Please keep the comments coming, we love to hear from players - your contribution makes the game better!

The Machines iPhone 7 Plus

This is a different way to play video games... You can literally move your phone into any position which will replicate in the game, allowing you to view the battlefield from any angle you feel which immerses you into the game. The game could be explained a little better. I still aren’t quite sure of the full dynamics of the game.

Graphically though, WOW! It’s well worth £4.99 just not to have any pay walls etc... pay once, play forever.

***UPDATE*** incredible developer who obviously care about their fan base as they have repeatedly listened to their customers and upgraded and fixed where necessary... this is 5 stars for me now and feels polished and complete.

Badly designed and poorly explained

Sure it looks pretty cool and the AR is nifty. But what the hell am I doing? The “tutorial” briefly explains the controls and UI and the says “you’re ready to play” and dumps you in without explaining what the objective is. I’ve played two games where I destroy more towers, kill more heroes and gain more points than the AI opponent and I... lose? What the hell? What’s more your heroes do nothing unless you explicitly direct them and are useless without their abilities meaning you have to run around (literally) and micromanage them.

TL;DR it looks cool but for £5 it better be more than just a tech demo and that’s all that this is good for. If this is the future of gaming then I am not sold

Hi there. We are really sorry to hear that you have not enjoyed the game so far. We take everyone's feedback at heart and will work towards making The Machines better, starting with the on boarding experience. Also, as more and more player come into the game, we are hard at work to fine-tune the progression system and overall balancing so that your efforts during battle will be better reflected in the outcome. Regarding the heroes, please note that The Machines is inspired by traditional MOBA gameplay, so there indeed a certain level of hero management. We are evaluating giving players to option to let the heroes move more independently.
The more we hear from the community, the better game experience we will create. So please keep constructive feedback coming. You can also reach out here or directly through our support email.
