Fiendishly difficult! Adorably cute! Utterly engrossing!
How much gold can you get before your entire team is destroyed? IT'S NEVER ENOUGH!
Play The Nightmare Cooperative now - it's a strategic adventure where you lead a group of unlikely comrades through some rather difficult situations. Your village has fallen on hard times (due to reckless spending by the Village Council) and it’s up to you to bring back some gold.
The Nightmare Cooperative is a puzzley roguelike. You control a group of characters, each with different special abilities. The trick? They all move together, as a group. Something of a cooperative, if you catch the drift.
Every playthrough will be different, and you'll always have to start at the beginning, no matter how well (or badly) you did before. Your score is the amount of gold that you pickup during your journey. Opening crates gives you extra gold, but releases more monsters.

"You can't move one of your characters without moving them all," complains one reviewer, also referring to the characters as "underpowered". Well, yes, that's the whole point. Hence "cooperative". Hence "nightmare".
This is a great little game really helped by its atmospheric music and visuals. Given that it's 2016 though, it would be great to see an update now that it's featured in the App Store.
"Move underpowered characters around repetitive maps, with zero progression." Yay.
You can't move one of your characters without moving them all. Avoid traps, and identikit monsters. And, in a nutshell, that's it.
There's some (limited) variation in gameplay, with various characters gaining different special moves from "potions." But most effects are pretty trivial, death is remarkably easy, and the game appears to consist of - at most - 16 levels.
That'd be interesting, if roguelike progression was possible. But afaict, the only "progression" involves uncovering backstory and / or artwork. None of which is very interesting, unless you find yourself particularly smitten by the (tedious) gameplay.
Jog on, IMO.
Great game. I like that each time it starts it is different. Chalenging and puzzling game.
